We're going to be in Buenos Aires a couple of days prior to our cruise. Can anyone recommend a local tour company. Nothing fancy, it can be by bus rather than a private car. Just looking for a convenient way to see the highlights of the city. Thanks.

We were in Buenos Aires in February and were very happy with their Free Walking Tour. There are actually 2 of them since there is just so much to see in this wonderful city. We did the morning tour which ended in Recoleta but ran out of time to take the afternoon tour because we took a couple of days to fly up to Iguazu Falls (also very much worth the visit!). The tours, as in many of the world's cities, are excellent for giving an overview of the city, or part of it, and for giving a different perspective. The guides tend to be students of various ages and interests. Ours was very politically and historically connected but also was careful to recommend museum and galleries which were worthy of additional attention. The tours are indeed free. You just show up and at the end of the tour pay what you feel they are worth. The website is http://www.buenosairesfreewalks.com/

Liz has a reputation on the Trip Advisor Buenos Aires forum for writing her own reviews and posting positive comments about herself under various aliases. I'd suggest asking the Destination Experts on that forum for a reference before using her services. Let the buyer beware.

We did a free walking tour and it was great. We did the rest of the city on our own. It is not hard to do, the city is walkable and if you are tired, toke the METRO or a taxi.

We are looking for information/recommendation for a specific tour guide in Buenos Aries. We have seen Liz Andrea of "Liz Private Tours - Local Guide" mentioned here on this forum and significant mention of her services on Trip Advisor. A post on this thread/forum from mid-June 2016 suggested that Liz is a pretty active "self-promoter" and before engaging her, one should seek out some references. Do any current readers have recent experience with Liz's work?

Thanks!

Mike
