We booked through www.shoretrips.com or www.roatancruiseexcursions.com it was very professional they had good certified Petzl equipment and the dual cables with redundant system. There fast zips great platforms good views good heights and speed and very full of trees and green areas. All the guides were a huge help too.

I noticed that the cost is $57 through shoretrips and $52 through islandmarketing, are they the same excursion using the same zip lines?

I was looking at Pirates. I emailed them and they told me they had free transportation if you had four or more going.

This is true... They wait right at the exit gate for the pier with a little booth. They ususally have a sign with your name on it also. I went with 2 and we got free transport also because I talked him into it... :D

ENJOY!

We used Island Marketing Ltd. and were very happy with them. When we got off the ship there was a woman waiting with a sign. We had to wait for another party to join us, but fortunately they arrived about 10 minutes later. We had 4 adults and 3 kids, and the other party had about 5 people. We were driven to South Shore, left our things in the office there, and were suited up for ziplining. The guides were very efficient, and the equipment looked good. We all had a great time on the ziplines. We were then picked up in the van and driven to Fosters at West Bay. We were each given a drink ticket and shown where the chairs were. They asked what time we wanted to be picked up. We walked down the beach and did some great snorkeling. We really enjoyed the day, and would highly recommend this excursion.

We hired Victor Bodden for $25 per person (min 4) for the island tour and then an extra $45 for the Jungle Canopy Zip Lines and Victor's Monkey Business. It was a lot of fun! Victor was telling us that he hired an American company to help him design the course and recommend the best equipment. Each zip line had 2 lines and dual pulleys. Pedro, one of his partners, put up the lines and he was our zip line guide. He made sure that we were safely hooked in before every zip. He was a blast and took the time to show us all the tricks, including what he called crazy-monkey! He also was good about taking pictures.

Victor's pet monkeys were a riot!

If we find ourselves back in Roatan, we will definitely use Victor Bodden again and do the zip line/monkey tour!

Six of us did this same tour last week (January 28th). It was a lot of fun. Same deal as Jeff's with $25 per person for all day tour in A/C van and $45 for the zip line. Would go back in a second. One of our guides on the zip line was Victor himself. Two line system with double redundant harnesses. Very safe.

We were the first group that arrived that day and shortly after, some other groups arrived. We even convinced some older ladies to give the zips a try!

What time did yall arrive?

Jeff--We probably got there sometime between 11:00 and 12:00. There were 6 in our group. There were some people that had just finished when we arrived. May have been your group. Our guide, Lionel, took us over to West Bay for a lunch stop after the zip. Great views and place to eat right on the water. Was there a girl, about 10 years old, in the office that took your money, etc at the zip line? If so, that was one of Victor's daughters.

No, the older 18yo daughter took our money and showed us the monkeys after we were done zipping! We were probably the group before you. :)

After zipping, Roland, our guide, took us to Half Moon bay and stopped to let us enjoy some coconuts. Afterwards, we went to Fosters and hung out there for a bit before heading back to the ship (well as close as he could bring us to the port with the President being in town and all).

Are the zip lines next to Victors close to the monkees so that those poeple who do not want to zip can just play with the monkeys until we are finished zipping?

The zip lines are right next to the monkeys. You have to walk past the monkeys to get to the first platform.

To the posted asking about weight limits: I'd look on Victors web site or email him and ask for the info you need. A link is posted a few messages back.
