BlackJack Strategy Cards

I'm leaving on Carnival Magic in 30 days! I was wondering if anyone has ever brought a printed strategy sheet for blackjack and used it while playing. Is it allowed? Also, is there any recent information on table minimums for a 7 day cruise? Will it be $10 minimum on the Magic? Any info helps! Thanks!

I've never done it but I've never heard of a casino that didn't allow you to bring the strategy cards - I can't imagine a Carnival casino having a problem with it.

Every Carnival cruise I've been on has had a couple $6 (yes... 6) tables, and then some $10 and $25 tables. On the $6 tables, you can bet $5 and then the extra dollar can go on the side bet, or you can just make your regular bet $6.

Most all tables will be at least $10 minimum. The minimums may increase as the casino becomes more busy, just like in Vegas.

There will be one game called "Fun 21", "Fun Blackjack" or something that has a $6 minimum. There will probably be 2-3 tables of this. This is a suckers game, and if I remember correctly, they have all of the Queens removed from the deck. If you just want to have fun and don't care about your odds, this game is fine to play, but you will lose a higher percentage of hands (but for less money each hand).

Hope this helps!

So I'm guessing the payout on the $6 table is 6:5 and not 3:2?

Well, I'm going to defer to the other poster since it's been a couple years for me. Generally a 6:5 game requires your bets to be increments of $5, but I have heard that the lower limit tables are going to 6:5, so I would think that the minimums at 6:5 tables are $5 - maybe $10 if the previous poster is correct.

There is one positive on the Fun 21 game and that is it is hand shuffled versus the continuous shufflers used on the blackjack games. I personally have never been able to win with a continuous shuffler so I don't play these games on the ships. You can use a strategy card but don't have it laying on the table. Just hold it in your hand and refer to it as necessary.

Fun 21 is like Spanish 21 and if you play it you can't play it like you play blackjack or you'll get slaughtered. Go to the Wizard of Odds website and print out the Spanish 21 basic strategy.

They do allow it on the ships but you must keep it below the table like on your lap. dont try to be sneaky and hide it but just when you get it out then keep it on your lap.
