Which w/ kids: Ruins+rodeo or Yellow & Golden Cities?

Torn between two excursions for our family, with kids ages six through teen. We rarely take Carnival excursions but probably will at this port.

1) Dzibilchaltun ruins w/ cenote swimming + Ranch /w buffet and horse show -- We've been to ruins before and I know these don't have a large pyramid, but the kids like climbing ruins, my middle child would love to swim in a cenote, and the little one is horse-obsessed. But it's pricy, and I'd like to see Merida.

2) White and Golden Cities with horse-drawn carriage and lunch -- DH and I would like to see these unique places, Merida and Izamal, but are worried about the long bus rides for the kids, plus the girls are begging for a cenote and the horse show.
