river park hotel and suites

has anyone stayed at this hotel before? price is right but wondering if it's too good to be true. it supposedly only 2 miles to pom so cab ride should be short. for those who stayed here-is there anything within walking distance? we are a couple with kids 5 and 6. tia.

Too good to be true. I stayed there sometime last year with a friend who was only in Miami for one night to join a ship the following day (her TA booked her there). AWFUL!! The check-in and valet process were both very unorganized, the hotel and the room we had was very "dated", we had to ask for towels, the carpet in our room was dirty, bad smells, and the elevator was terribly slow. There are places within walking distance, but there are better hotel properties in downtown Miami.
