chris4189 Posted September 25, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 25, 2017 My son and his girlfriend are going with us on a cruise, he has already prepaid their tips, and bought their drink cards. He plan to put cash on his sign and sail account, but did not plan to use it and just have it refunded at the end of the cruise. Carnival says they recommend $200 per person for a 7 day cruise, he does not want to put that much down, he was thinking more of $50 between both of them as they do not plan to spend any money on board. All that said, does anyone know the minimum amount that Carnival will allow you to place on the account, their $400 is just too much.

Rudyard Posted September 26, 2017 #5 Share Posted September 26, 2017 When we've done cash in the past I put down $100 for the two of us and just add to it as needed.
maryred Posted September 26, 2017 #6 Share Posted September 26, 2017 Have them put at least $20 on each of their accounts, and use the HUB app to watch if they need to deposit more. It's not a large chore to go the last night to close out a cash account. They may not plan on spending anything, but even with the drink package they will still have to pay state sales tax on beverages purchased while in US waters. Additionally if they forgot a toiletry or sundry and need to purchase it from the on board store do they really want to find that the purchase is declined because of insufficient funds on their Sail-n-Sign account.
