Car Rental - Port Everglades?

Has anyone rented a car after they've done a cruise in Fort Lauderdale? Called Alamo and they say you call and they'll come get you, (five minutes away) I was just wondering if anyone had done this with them or any other car rental agency, and how was the experience?

Easy to do. I've used Hertz and Avis from the Port. The car rental companies are between the Port and Airport, only 5-10 minutes by free shuttle. It can be a bit hectic trying to get on the shuttle as many other passengers will be waiting too and everyone has multiple suitcases.

We used Enterprise at the Port of San Diego, it was real easy and we had a great day on our own! :)

Thanks, nice to know. Someone else had another suggestion, they had just taken a cab to the car rental, that may just work out better than we'd only have to worry about us
