easy to DIY city tour afternoon?

hi. we are going to the beach in the AM and then back to the ship around 2pm. How easy/safe for DD14 and Mom to walk from ship to city for an hour or so (3-4pm) and DIY tour around? Does the ship dock right at town?

Very easy to do, the port are is very close to town. it is about 300 yards from the arrivals bldg to the Bay Road. You will want to ask how to get to the Circus and Independence square.
