Trafalgar Location in London

Recommended Posts

We will be visiting London for our 1st visit in November for several days before boarding ship. I'm thinking of booking at Hilton Trefalgar and was wondering from the experienced if this is a good location for visiting the sights in London. Seems like everthing is .5 miles away from the hotel. Is it walkable or is the underground still necessary.

Thank for your help.

"The sights" in London cover a pretty wide area - it's a big city. The Hilton Trafalgar is within walking distance of many, but there are others that you would still need to take a bus or Tube to. And there is no hotel in London to which this doesn't apply.

Hi

This hotel overlooks Trafalgar Square and is within walking distance of Buckingham Palace, Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey & Cathedral. Buses stop outside that will take you to Oxford Street - 6, 13, 15, 23, 139. The nearest tube is Charing Cross no more than 5 min walk. The National Gallery is on the other side of Trafalgar Square to the hotel. Also within 10 mins of China Town and Covent Garden waould also be walkable.

I was in London last Thursday and it is possible to walk to nearly all of the main tourist attractions in Central London, we were there for a show, we go regularly but in one day, we visited Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square, Covent Garden, Buckingham Palace, Harrods (did use a tube for this but walked back down Constiution Hill to Buckingham Palace).

Would def reccommend the National Gallery, spent over two hours just wandering around.
