Decent Southampton hotel with view of QEII Dock?

Hi there,

Is there a hotel that either has a view of the QEII terminal, or which is close to a view (e.g. a short walk).

We're staying in Southampton the night before our QE2 trip in August, and want to see our ship come in, so to speak!

The closest hotels to the QE2 dock is the Holiday Inn and De Vere.

Its still quite a long walk through the docks to the cruise terminal, about 15 minutes and you won't get a good view from the hotels either.

Unfortunately the map linked above is not correct in regard to the terminal.

The Queen Elizabeth II terminal is much further away.

Yet, from the point marked C on the first map, which is in reality the town quay, you have a great view of the QEII terminal. Go to the parking lot at the end of the quay. It can be reached in ten to fifteen minutes (Well, depending on you speed even less.) walking from the de Vere and also from more traditional hotels on high street, the Star and the Dolphin.
