OrlandoGirl57 Posted July 29, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 29, 2014 My partner has difficulty walking distances. Are there any options available for getting from the ship to taxi's or pick up areas for tours? We don't know if we will just get a cab somewhere or take an excursion but the problem with breathing and walking will be part of that decision. Any thoughts are appreciated. sail7seas Posted July 31, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 31, 2014 Have you thought of bringing a wheelchair to assist your partner?
OrlandoGirl57 Posted July 31, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted July 31, 2014 Sail7Seas- yes, we did that on our last cruise. We used it only when necessary, but off ship it was very inconvenient boarding vans, trolleys, etc. Plus, it's not easy to push. At home we have a motorized one. We were hoping to get away from having to use the wheelchair. Walker with the seat is another option, but that also is difficult to transfer onto vehicles. Shutterbug999 Posted August 4, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 4, 2014 depending on the tour booked, some go from town, - a walk but some go from the pier - which would be the same walking distance for a cab Walking around Otrobanda is very flat and a walker/ wheel chair will do fine, crossing the floating bridge is a bit unstable but flat with a few boards rotting Punda is flat but prob about 50% disbaled friendly
