Beware of taking a younger teen down Bourbon St. even in the daytime they might see things that you would not want them to.

I've stayed at Marriott on Canal. Good location. Also consider the World War II museum -- my teenaged nephew loved it. Also a movie theater a couple of blocks from the Marriott, so that was nice for one evening. We did Bourbon St. about 7 pm -- nothing too extreme, just depends on your teenager.
