Birdsailing Posted December 6, 2004 #1 Share Posted December 6, 2004 DH and I were on the 11/13 sailing of the Serenade of the Seas and had a fantastic time. The ship is gorgeous, and we enjoyed every minute. A funny little bit of ship trivia... There is interesting artwork featured in all of the staircases at the landings, and we liked to study it pretty closely. Since we had sworn off elevators for this trip, the artwork supplied us with some nice opportunities for breathers between the flights. In one of these areas there are two very large, formal full length paintings of women. I commented to DH that one of those women bore an amazing resemblance to one of the actresses in the Harry Potter series of movies. Sure enough, that woman is Fiona Shaw. I'll bet a lot of kids would get a kick out of seeing a huge painting of "Aunt Petunia" on their cruiseship! Anybody going on the Serenade, I hope you'll take the time to look at the art all around the ship. Next to the NCL Dawn, it's the nicest I've ever seen on a ship.
