Residence Inn or Courtyard in Cocoa Beach

I have Marriott points so I was considering staying at either the Residence Inn or Marriott Courtyard. Both claim to be in Cocoa Beach and trip advisor seems to have similiar feedback for both.

Which would you choose and why for our pre-cruise stay. We will have a car we will be a family of 3 (2 adults and 1 9yo).

The RI is a lot closer to the pier than the CY and the RI has free breakfast and more space in the room...If they were the same amount of points, I would do the RI...and I am a Marriott Platinum for life...

Have not stayed in either but I have seen them both .

We've stayed in the Residence Inn about 5 times and like it very much.

However, the Courtyard is closer to "downtown" Cocoa Beach if that makes a difference.

We stayed at the Residence two years ago and had one of the best stays in a hotel ever. The employees from the manager on down seemed honestly concerned that our stay be perfect.
