mikevet Posted November 25, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 25, 2014 Very strong wind and sea current plus an engine problem is slowing the allure down right now. We will be late into st thomas on Wednesday. Capt says problem should be fixed in st Thomas. Will not arrive to port until 12:45 and can't get off ship until at least 1:45. All is well. Clarea Posted November 25, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 25, 2014 (edited) I wonder if this is a different propulsion problem than they tried to fix in Freeport a few months ago? Edited November 25, 2014 by clarea
mikevet Posted November 26, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted November 26, 2014 They didn't specify the problem. Winds are around 50mph on the upper deck with forward progress of ship. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
SF Posted November 26, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 26, 2014 Hope you enjoy the rest of your cruise. Please post and keep us updated whether the problem gets repaired in St. Thomas like they said it would.
Ltgfrk Posted November 26, 2014 #5 Share Posted November 26, 2014 The captain did say that the problem has to do with a turbo charger that was installed this past Sunday. It has quit working. It has slowed us by 1 kt and that combined with the strong winds has slowed us down. What they should do, since it's a short ride over to SXM, is to leave an hour or two later tomorrow evening. Obviously that won't happen.
