I've been trying to find more on Red Stripe Beach, anyone else have any thoughts, suggestions etc.?

Do you need to book before, or can you just book that day and go for a few hours?

See my reply above , where I reference another review. I suggest you reply to that review.

My wife and I went there at the end of April 2014 and found it to be beautiful. It is not the true resort that us americans are used to, but it is very nice.

Once we arrived we were asked if we wanted to rent a beach chair which we did and they placed it under a noce shady pine tree. A young lady named April came by with Red Stripes and other beverages and was very pleasant.

The beach is very nice with soft sand and it was raked several times during the day we were there. The water was warm and clear.

I felt completely secure here as there is a noticable security guard. We were not approached by a single vendor trying to sell us anything.

The rest of the resort is basic but very clean including the restrooms. There was a small hut selling trinkets and another selling food and drinks.

For a $29 cruise ship booked excursion, it was great!

I hope this helps. Enjoy!
