Getaway getaway

FLew into miami yesterday. Stayed at the mariott. Was okay for one night. Location wise was okay. Room small and needed renovation. Beds comfortable. Was 30 dollar cab ride fron airport. Went to bayside marketplace and took boat tour of houses of rich and famous. Was not crowded and saw everything from the frint of the boat. Would recimmend the intercontinental instead due to location besides bayside. Boat tour would have been better during the day but whatever it was good enough. The mariott has a small mall attached. Had lunch in the mall at le bar. Was delicious.

Ride to terminal was 15 for the cab. At the concierge lounge now. No seats left. They have cookies and coffee. Should be onboard soon.

Okay made it aboard in no time. Haven lounge served small cheeseburgers and mojitos alcohol free. Haven restaurant promptly opened at 12:30. Smoking allowed on waterfront but look like only at the bar. The concierge said to meet at 4:45 to be taken to illusinarium show for the best seats. Its hot and humid. People cleaning everywhere. Ship looks nice so far. Over and out. More to follow.

Can you ask if a bartender named Bong is still on the Getaway? Last I heard he was on vacation. He last worked in the Mojito bar. Your help is appreciated. Thankyou in advance.

Made it to the room. Got lost finally found our way. Haven spa suite. Nice room. Ac working good so far. Ship beautiful. Starting to rain. Plenty of storage. Lavanzza coffee machine making strange noises. There are some snacks and a bottle of champagne compliments if the captain. Going for lunch at the haven. Thats all for now.

Pool deck has live band. 20 percent off illusinarium. Cloudy out. Plenty of loungers. Some lady complaining about her room. Whatever.

People complain on cruise ships............no way. LOL!!!!!

Check in quick and easy. Room ready at 12:45. Had lunch at haven. Was good. Spa suite very nice. Haven terrific. Very nice. Smoking area on top very luxurious. Met concierge, Ruth. Seems very helpful, but we had already booked everything in advance so no problem.

Met at haver for escort to illusionarium. Had great front row seats. Show was good, but not as good as on breakaway. Food delicious. Shrimp and steak.

Breakfast in haven a little too formal. Buffet has everything and more. Will opt for buffet. Dinner was in la cucina. I don't know how people can complain. Had steak and shrimp and she brought a bowl of meatballs without asking. Burn the floor good show. Standing ovation. Has good seats in the reserved area but had to move a few rows back when some old lady sat directly in front of us drenched in perfume. She smelled like a funeral parlor, and was making me nauseous.

So far we haven't used the butler much. She showed us how to use the coffee machine and brought some snacks. I don't think we will use the coffee machine.

Won some money on the progressive slot in the morning. Good variety of machines. Nothing out of the ordinary. Dinner at cagneys tonite. Waterfront seems like a good idea but never see anyone sitting there eating. The one bar with about 10 stools is always packed with smokers, but the wind carries the smoke away quickly so no problem.

Chair hogs out in full force there was some argument this morning over some loungers and the f bombs were flying until some staff arrived. Things quieted down. Not too many kids on board that we saw.

Bong is back onboard! We just got off the Getaway on Saturday morning, and enjoyed Bong's special brand of entertainment daily. :D

Lots to do inboard. Got two t shirts on sale today only. Good thing I waited. Haven area nice, but a lot of screaming kids in the hot tubs

Yes, and also occasionally at Spice H2O as well. He told me he also works the bar in the Grammy Experience as well.

I can't recall his name off the top of my head, but while chatting with him at the Sugarcane Bar late one night he told me he'd be onboard for 3 more weeks, and then off for a vacation and back again in either December or January.

I have all the Freestyle Dailies, so I'll pull them out tomorrow and get his name for you.

Yesterday was in st maartin. Had breakfast in buffet rather than haven. Seem to prefer that as it is too early to be fussed over. Went to orient beach. Surprisingly it had lots of seaweed and a tremendous amount of gnats. Water was warm. Rented chairs from kontikt. Red loungers in the middle. Nice day. Took cab 7 dollars each way.

Dinner was in lebistro. Soup was good but lobster tasteless and waterlogged. Its okay always someting to eat.

Weather great so far.

Just back from the kontiki excursion. Went ti honeymmon beach a small tour and glass bottom look at the reef. Highly recommend. The emcee on the boat was fantastic. Dinner in moderno tonite. They left some cheese and crackers in the room.

We had the udp and it was included anyway. Lots to eat everywhere. No complaints here. So far a great trip.
