When Does T5 at LHR Open??

When does Terminal 5 open for LHR? Will it surplant T4? What will land at T5---Inter European flights or flights from the US, or a combination? What will happen to T4? Are they keeping T2 or will any of the older terminals be demolished?

From what I heard, 2008 the earliest. All the other terminals will continue operating. I think terminal 5 is particularly designed for A380 double-decker planes, but will cater for all other types of planes, as the demand to fly in/out of Heathrow has always been high.

T5 will be a British Airways-only terminal. The airline's plans for the move into the terminal can be found on this page. But note that even after the 2008 moves, some British Airways flights will remain in the central terminal area, using Terminal 3. All oneworld partners should be located in T3 as well.

Terminal 2 is being demolished as part of the development of "Heathrow East" - essentially building a counterpart to T5 on that side. When the first phase is up and running, T1 will be demolished and the new terminal extended.

IIRC, SkyTeam is moving into T4. Star is basically taking iover T1, although the main A380-capable gates are in T3 so the airlines operating them will probably stay at T3.
