PG Last day question

If you bought your air package from Regent, you will be given a couple of options. Go directly from the ship to a room at the Radission Papetee, or take a tour of Papetee, and then to the Radisson. You'll be able to use the pool at the Radisson, and then freshen up again before you leave for the airport at about 6.

You will have to vacate your room by about 9:30 and will leave the ship by noon or so (if you have the Regent Air/Sea package). Our flight left at 10 p.m. from Papeete to LAX. The hotel day rooms aren't all available until 3 and we had to catch the buses to leave for the airport at 6, so having taken the tour, we didn't have much time at all at the hotel. Barely time to shower and freshen up and leave again. I wish we had not taken the tour. The Radisson is a GORGEOUS place and it would have been just fine to sit at the pool or the bar until the room was ready. The tour was okay but I would have been just as happy without it.

If you skip the tour, you're the last off the ship, at about 1:00. That gives you time to take advantage of a final lunch on the ship. The bus got us to the hotel a little before 2:00, and our rooms were all ready, so we didn't have to sit around until 3:00 to get our room. (Unfortunately, it began to rain just as we got to our room, so we didn't get to take advantage of the nice pool.) It is frustrating to be told your bus pickup is at 6:00 when your flight isn't until 10:00, but I guess they want to insure that any possible delay won't cause people to be late.

Thanks for the information. From the 2006 PG brochure, it looks like the tour and hotel cost $125 per person. Is that correct and if so, what do you do if you do not want to pay the additional amount?
