jessybell Posted October 29, 2014 #51 Share Posted October 29, 2014 I feel sorry for the crew who have to staff any lounge where any type of smoking is permitted. Do they get an option to be there or not.......?
Salacia Posted October 30, 2014 #52 Share Posted October 30, 2014 I feel sorry for the crew who have to staff any lounge where any type of smoking is permitted. Do they get an option to be there or not.......? Imagine signing up for working in the engine room, or the laundry below decks. Ever seen the conditions they work in? But in answer to your question, on Cunard ships, smoking venues are very limited. My understanding is that those venues are staffed by people who chose to work there. Unsurprisingly, there are crew members who smoke cigarettes. Not saying it makes it all right, just saying these are the facts to the best of my knowledge. bunkrest Posted October 30, 2014 #53 Share Posted October 30, 2014 My November cruise will be the first as a non smoker (or as I like to say,"a smoker who has chosen not to") Apart from worrying about the health implications as one gets older the hassle of finding a place to smoke has also been a deciding factor for my decision to stop. I stopped with the help of my GP who recommended Champix tablets,I have said in the past "I wish there was a magic pill"believe me Champix works...I actually feel (without sounding dramatic) like I've been re born. After 32 years on a 30 a day addiction if I can stop anyone can... Sent from my iPad using Forums
