welove2cruise* Posted April 9, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 9, 2015 Is there an app or good guide that anyone knows of to create a "storyboard" of shots/videos to plan for a trip? I always find that I like the more thought out approach to presenting and it would be nice to work on this ahead of time on my iPad.

But I can offer some suggestions based on my own experience. Have an audience in mind. For example, just the family. That’s easiest. The least demanding. Tell the story of YOUR experience along with the place you are visiting. Put your fellow travels in the video – and YOURSELF TOO. Gather information, still pictures, music cd’s, DVD’s, along the way that will be helpful later. Shoot yourself (or your mates) as you think of things or make observations. Make video notes. TRY HARD TO KEEP THE CAMERA STEADY when shooting video. Think smooth! Make an effort to get good sound. Look for closer shots that will act as cut-a-aways to compress time. Remember to get wider shots to establish the location. Take some stills too. Many things are better as stills. Ask fellow travelers for their stills too! To get good sound on people talking – GET CLOSE. This old video of mine has a lot of the techniques I mentioned. Not everyone might agree with this style .. I’m happy to discuss it. I think you can see that no app could anticipate our day in Tallin.
welove2cruise* Posted April 10, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted April 10, 2015 Thanks for the suggestions. I am always behind the camera and rarely in front but just bought a Gopro so will try to get used to the selfie stick. ;)
