My parents went on a cruise that stopped a Langkawi for a very short while. They took a ship's bus to town but there was nothing much to see.

 

I read that you can go with a local taxi and pay them to take you to some sights. I'm not sure though.

Suggest perhaps a lunch at Bon Ton resort which has genuine Asian fare and wonderful collection of old Malaysian houses around the pool, great photography opportunity. Or if you want to hire a taxi to go a lot further the beach out at the Datai is spectacular

We dock here immediately after 3 days in Singapore and a day in Kuala Lumpur. Sun beds in the video above look Ok to me, is the shuttle bus to them a general shuttle bus from the ship or is it a special one for a shopping centre?

 

Another post mentions that the beach out at the Datai is spectacular. Is that difficult or expensive to get to? We will be in need of a very easy day by then.
