c-leg5 Posted January 27, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 27, 2015 (edited) Do you remember what you paid? Was the hotel okay? Here is a link to a previous post I made. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=44884363&postcount=2 It is our "go-to" place when we don't want to do an excursion but want to get off the ship for a few hours. We have been to Cozumel many times. As I said we just take the cheapest package, now about $20 with $10 food and beverage credit. I believe they offer AI for about $55. I would email reservations to check on current pricing and policy. As to whether it is "OK"? It depends what you are looking for and what facilities you need. It is a fairly small low-key, hotel with not too much in hotel building as far as I know. They have a small pool, massages, tennis, snorkeling and diving, bar and restaurant. We generally just sit and people watch, and check emails, food has been fine but we order off the menu not the buffet. We choose El Cid primarily because of our port times - if we stayed later or longer I would probably choose Park Royal because AI day pass is less expensive and facilities look nicer (nicer pools) but day pass does not start until 11am so we don't usually feel we would be there long enough to make cost worthwhile. I would add if you are docking at either of the southern piers both have the added bonus of no taxi fare as they are within a short walking distance of the pier. You have always been able to buy day pass to either in the lobby on the day which means you have flexibility regarding the weather and change of plans. If you have any other questions I will try and answer. If you put El Cid into search engine for this forum you will find other reports and opinions.
