Beaches in Progresso?

Are the beaches close to the port? Like a short walk or short bus ride? Last time we went to Progresso we did a Ruin which lasted all day. Looking for a beach day this time around. :D

The pier is 4-5 miles long and you will take a bus into Progreso. After you get off the bus at the central station you will be about 5 blocks from the beach. It is free to use but also will have a lot of vendors. In the past we have walked down the beach maybe a half mile and gotten to an area where it was more quiet.
