Victress2007 Posted August 10, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 10, 2014 I've gotten a couple of ads lately for refocus programs (maybe they've been looking at my pictures on facebook ). Has anyone used these, are they worth the cost, is one better than another? The two I've gotten are Refocus and Inpixio Photo Maximizer. Any advice? Thanks, Vic
Rare pierces Posted September 5, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 5, 2014 So sorry for the delay! This fell through the cracks on the weekend that I was photographing my niece's wedding and I just happened onto it this morning! I found two Refocus products, Akvis Refocus 5.0 and Avanquest Refocus 4. Inpixio Photo Maximizer is actually an enlargement optimizer form Avanquest so I assume the refocus in you email is also from them. I have used neither but have used the trial version of Topaz Labs version called InFocus and found it to be very effective. It isn't a stand-alone program but if you use Lightroom, Elements, Photoshop or Corel Paint Shop Pro it will work as a plugin. Obviously I can't attest to the effectiveness of the Avanquest product but as the owner of several of Topaz' other imaging plugins, I can say that if you need a refocusing program, the few extra dollars for the Topaz product may well be worth it. Dave Thanks for the info on Topaz. I looked at Topaz Infocus today and it's about $70 although with coupon codes can be reduced to $30.
