Any one been on a cruise,where this service is available,and do they also wash the smalls as well.

My girlfriend and i are booked on P&O Pacific Dawn to NZ for 14 days.

It will be out of school holidays time,and the Dawn is supposed to have a lot of washers.

I have been on the Pacific Sun,and i would not escort my friend in to an enviroment, like that was.

We are currently booked in a mini suite,the full suite will cost more,but to have our washing done, would be a tremendous help for me.:)

We've not been in a full suite so can't speak about complimentary laundry service (I'm assuming you mean "free"?)..but we have sent our laundry away to have them wash it (at our cost). If by "smalls" you mean things like underwear and handerchiefs, stuff like that, then yes, they will wash, fold, iron if appropriate, and return it.

Is the suite you're considering handicap-accessible?

You will have to ask the cruise line since they are all different. I have seen reference on the Carnival site about free wash and fold service for Platinum guests (10+ cruises). We sent some things in, at cost, on Celebrity Infinity on a 2-week Panama Canal cruise. They did a beautiful job. I washed out the undies in the sink. I found some hand was size detergent packets, or you could buy small travel containers. The ships we have been on all had a pull-out drying line in the shower. Two weeks is a long time to pack for if don't plan on washing–and a lot of luggage to carry.

First of all, this board is for posting questions about cruising and persons with disabilities---not sure if you realize that. Second, you'd get better answers if you post this question on the board of the cruise line you're sailing. People there will have the answers.

But generally speaking, unless you're a frequent cruiser on a specific line, or if you're in their largest suite, you won't get free laundry. Most of the mass market lines only provide this service for those who are in their highest club category for frequent cruisers, or if you're in their Penthouse suite, or similar. Smaller suites don't get that perk.

Thanks everyone for helpfull advice,my girlfriend has problems left over from a stroke some year,s ago.But sorry to some,i did not know,i needed to fill in that information.:mad:

It's not that you needed to fill in that information. It's just that, if we knew if your question was related somehow to having a disability (either you or your girlfriend), there might have been some different answers to questions. Bottom line -- answers to your question about laundry are the same whether you're asking about a person with a disability or not -- some cruise lines offer free laundry services in high-end suites, some don't; all of them have laundry services for which you have to pay; all of them will do undies and other "smalls" if you include them in your request; you'd have to go to the specific board for your cruise line, or the cruise line web page itself to see if laundry is included in the category you're considering booking;

and there are no special circumstances for persons with disabilities.

Thanks for the return mail,firstly as i read,i did not need to inform this forum about my girlfriends disability,but on the other hand,if this forum knew about the disability, then we might have got more info.

I do realise and know, that a disabled person does not have privilages.

But perhaps a thick skin might help.
