MSC Fantasia Wi-Fi

I've heard a lot of bad reviews on the MSC wi-fi on the Fantasia, is it really that bad??

Is it much cheaper ordering before you go?

I was looking at the 'Social Cruise' package at £14 which gives unlimited usage of chat apps and social networks for the whole cruise.

We have just returned from a cruise on Fantasia, I booked my wifi before going at a cost of £35 each, mainly for the Facebook and e-mails. We had no problems but soon learned to not be in bars when busy as loads would be on line. Not good but OK in the cabin Deck 11.

I don't think using video services work as the speed is slow. Posting photo's to Facebook was also slow.

Thanks for your reply alanyaboy, what was the package that you had called?

Was it this one;

Streamer Cruise Plus

Full Internet access including Audio and Video up to 1500 MBs + an esclusive 20% more data (total amount 1800 MBs)

I couldn't see one on the MSC web site for £35, the one above is £49 each.

How did you find the data allowance, did it last you all day?

I had the streamer cruise plus package and found it more than enough for my needs.

It was fast, responsive and I posted lots of photos on social media.

I had loads of data allowance left at the end of my week onboard.

Thought it was very good value for money :)

Thanks Darcy, did you buy it before you went or when you boarded?

Just trying to see if you save much buying before we go!

Cheers!

Bought it before I went, as I did for the excursions and laundry. My bill on board was only for gratuities :)

Sorry for delay in replying still trying to navigate the cruise critic site. I had the Surfer package x 2. Mainly for the wife on her Facebook and e-mails. I held back on my 900mb allowance in case she ran out, which she did! I have just looked again. Its priced at £34.90 per cruise passenger and you get 800mb but this valid for 7 day cruises.
