Getting from car to ship at POM

We will be driving from Maryland to Miami and parking on site at POM. Are there shuttles provided to take passengers from the parking lots to the ship or must we walk? Would it be best to have one person check the luggage and the other park?

for the most part the parking lot is just across the street . . . it is common to drop the luggage at the curb, where the porters take it from you .. you only take your carry-on inside the terminal with you .... then park.
