Hampton to Bayonne to EWR

Hello,

DW and I are leaving on Anthem on Sun Jan 3. We are staying at the Hampton Inn at the airport and will be there for 4 days prior to the cruise (NYE in Times Square = bucket list item)

What would be the best, economical way to get from the Hampton to Bayonne?

We will then be arriving back to Bayonne (From Anthem) on Thur Jan 14.

What is the most economical way to get to EWR from the port? Our flight does not leave till 6pm so time is not a factor.

What are you paying for the Hampton? Why did you select this hotel?

We got a decent deal through MVP Rewards. $119/night. We are flying in from Vancouver, Canada on Dec 30.

To get to the port you are going to have to arrange a car service fir $55-60. Coming back you can take a shared shuttle to the airpor port for $16/pp.

How are are planning on going in and out of NYC, particularly on New Years Eve?

We figured PATH from the Penn Station to and from. We thought we would leave around 9am and hang out in NYC and then sleep will be not an option on NYE with the millions of people trying to get out of Times Square. Does that sound about right? (We have never done this before)

How are you planning to get to Newark Penn Station from the Hampton? You need to understand the transportation system better. Please read through this current thread on this forum http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2201424

We figured the shuttle to the airport from the Hampton, then the train from the airport to Penn Station to NYC.

The NJ Transit train from Newark Airport Station to New York Penn Station is $12.50/pp each way. From there you can walk to Times Square. The train from the airport to Newark Penn Station is $8.25 and PATH to downtown Manhattan is $2.75.

On New Years Eve there are two trains back to the airport at 1 and 1:22 am (check schedule). If you miss those trains you should consider taking the airport bus back to the airport for $16/pp.
