Question about Catalina Tender

Hello!

I will be cruising on the Emerald Princess. One of our stops is at Catalina. I've been to the island numerous times, but always arrived from a larger boat from Long Beach.

I will be travelling with my Mom who has bad knees, and fear of water. I was wondering how difficult it is to transfer to the tender from the boat? Is it a ramp? Stairs? A ladder? And assuming the waters are fairly calm, is it a really rough ride? We are going in the end of November.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Princess uses its own tenders and the ride can be bouncy. It'll depend on local weather and what's happening up the coast, even Alaska. The crew will help with getting into the tender and do expect stairs.

FWIW Carnival uses Catalina Ferries. Completely roll on/off.
