svmodi Posted November 8, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 8, 2016 (edited) We will be on the Grandeur of the Seas stopping in Key West instead of Freeport, Bahamas on Nov 16. Trying to figure out what to do. Does anyone know of any boat tours/tour operators that take you around the Keys? Rare Hlitner Posted November 8, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 8, 2016 If you have never visited Key West, you might just consider spending your day in the city and enjoying the atmosphere, shops, bars, restaurants, etc. As to boat tours, there are local boat tours...but they are not generally going to other Keys (some of the Keys are quite a distance) but rather doing things like snorkeling, kayaking, booze cruises, etc. In many cases boat tours may not work with your cruise ship docking schedule...as they are not catering to cruisers...but get the bulk of their customers from those who actually stay on the Keys. My personal note is that DW and I enjoy Key West to such a degree that we now routinely drive (the best way to get to Key West) to Key West either before or after a cruise. For example, we will soon take a 14 day Celebrity Eclipse cruise from Miami...and when we get off the ship we will pick up a rental car and head to Key West for a few days/nights. Barefoot Billy's does a nice morning cruise around Key West serving snacks and mimosas but you have to get over to the Casa Marina by 9:30. It's described under Tours here ---> http://barefootbillys.com/ Otherwise, the Jolly II Rover does a two hour day-sail out into the harbor. It's BYO ---> http://schoonerjollyrover.com/ And FWIW you could do a private charter which would tailor a trip for your time-period. Check Breezin' with captain Dees ---> http://www.breezincharters.com/ It will probably run you $350.00 for up to 6 people. Pjk
