Joanandjoe Posted December 9, 2004 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2004 We've just posted a full review of our B-to-B Wind Surf cruises, Nice to Barcelona (11/7-14/2004) and Barcelona to Lisbon (11/14-21/2004). It's mostly favorable, but we don't hide the (few) warts. It will take a few days for the review to appear. We, or a watchful reader of this thread, will let you know when the review becomes available.
mousemeat Posted December 10, 2004 #2 Share Posted December 10, 2004 Where can I find your review? Thanks
Joanandjoe Posted December 10, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted December 10, 2004 The review has been posted, probably after Mousemeat asked. On the home page, go to reviews on the far left of the page, click on Windstar, and that will get you to the professional reviews. Click on member reviews and the two member reviews, including ours, will become available. The direct link is http://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=7746 but we're not sure if it works.
mousemeat Posted December 11, 2004 #4 Share Posted December 11, 2004 Thanks, Joanand joe, and the link DOES work. It sounds like you had a good time in spite of a few things.
ZAMOST Posted December 14, 2004 #5 Share Posted December 14, 2004 Thanks for the review. One can't hold a cruise line responsible for 60 knot winds and seasickness. However, there were a few issues that may well have been handled better. While our group awaited your return and review, we met and decided on the "safer" trip of Venice to Athens on the Diamond for August 2005. When we plan our next cruise by ourselves, I would be interested in the WindStar, especially if Lisbon, Spain, Morocco, are in the itinerary. Thanks again
Joanandjoe Posted December 14, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted December 14, 2004 Zamost, thanks for the heads up. As I mentioned before, either Radisson or Windstar would have been a good choice. I'm not sure that the Diamond is a "safer" choice than Windstar, since it's chartered so frequently. See the posting on the Radisson board about "RSSC-never again!" Yes, Windstar could have handled the bathroom problem better on our unanticipated wind and sea day; but conditions were so bad that they were overwhelmed. The good parts of the cruise were much more significant than the bad parts, and we had a great time.
