Vision of the Seas 1/9/05 part 1

Recommended Posts

Let's try this again. Stayed the night before at Best Western Sunrise in San Pedro. Boarding was easy no problems. If you want more detail let me know. This is the second time I have tried to post so I won't go into detail again. We were on board by 12:30. My 16 year old and myself. We went to the cabin and left carry-ons. Room wasn't ready. We went to buffet, okay for me, but no 24 hour pizza for Heather. We were assigned late seating, also not good. Don't want to start dinner at 8:30, I am usually asleep by then. We went to the late dinner and just couldn't eat, felt bad for wait staff, they thought there was something wrong with food, just too late for us. Heather went to the Disco in the Viking Crown Lounge, this is reserved for over 18's. There were a lot of kids 18-20, thank god, she does not do well with younger kids. She has a group of friends 18-20. She met up with some older kids in the lounge and they took great care to make sure she was not harassed. The DJ was worried about her getting hit on, but this didn't happen as she found some great guys that kept track of her for me and walked her back to her cabin to check in and at the end of the evening.

Will write more later. As I said I posted this before and it didn't take.

The first day at sea was very relaxing. I just wandered around. Heather hung out with her new friends. We met in the solarium and she tried the pizza. Unfortunately this was not very good. I tried a bite and had to agree. Carnival definitely has the pizza down. The other food on RCCL was good. We had 1st seating for the rest of the cruise, which was very good for us. We were seated at a table for 8. The other 3 couples were all traveling together. They were nice dinner companions. Whenever they saw us on or off the ship they stopped to say hello. This was the first formal night. We had champagne at the Captain's Cocktail party. If you have kids that look older they will serve them. I don't mind Heather having a glass of champagne so I just let it slide. After dinner I went to the casino and won at 3 card poker. I hit a straight flush. This is where I met the most interesting person of my cruise. His name was Henry. He was the most fun person. We had a blast almost daily playing 3 card. He was just so personable. He was 70 years old, but acted like a much younger man.

I think I finally walked away $50.00 richer at about 2:00 am. Heather came in a little after me. The first port is Cabo. Will get to the ports next time.

My wife, I and her Mum were also on this cruise. Cruise was good but a little cool and foggy for us. P/V was sunny and hot but then 2 more cool days at sea. I picked up a little virus that kept me in the cabin for two days. I spent alot of time either in bed, bathroom or the balcony. Thank God the Doctor didn't find out about it. Next cruise will be back in the Caribbean though. Much warmer down there. But the Mexican Riviera was somewhere that I had not been to and wanted to try.

Cheers for now

Henry wasn't a dealer he was another passenger. It seems as though no one really wants to read the review. I will post if someone else asks. Otherwise I will not bother. Since there haven't been any people saying they wanted more I will assume they don't. If anyone has specific questions please let me know.

I've been checking daily for an update on your review. I, for one, really want to read the rest of it. We're leaving on the same cruise on March 27th. Thanks in advance.
