What better way to take in the highlights of Grand Cayman than by helicopter! The exhilaration of flying in a helicopter low over the crystal clear waters will be an experience you will never forget. You will see it all!

Departing the pier, take a quick trip by air-conditioned minibus to the airport where you will be briefed on your flight before beginning your adventure. The tour takes you on a low flight over the beautiful turquoise waters to the reef. Hover over Stingray City where you will have a spectacular birds-eye view of the stingrays as they gather and feed on the sandbar.

Continue on a low and slow flight toward George Town where you will have the best view not only the famous drop off wall that makes diving in Cayman waters world famous, but the beautiful stretch of white Powder - the famous Seven Mile Beach, named one of the top five beaches in the world.

Next, view the grandeur of your Cruise Ship, as she sits magnificently against the beautiful backdrop of George Town. Hover here and take as many photos as you wish a view of your ship you will not see too often!

Flying over George Town, the tour turns toward the airport. Once you land, re-board your minibus for the short transfer back to the pier. Note: Flight time is approximately 15 - 20 minutes. The order of sights visited may vary. Participation on this tour is very limited. The maximum weight of each participant must be under 300 pounds.

We were on the the Explorer last week (May 22-29) and we decided to book the Helicopter Tour at Grand Cayman from the ship shore excursion desk. The tour was awesome. We have been to Grand Cayman many times and wanted to try something new (although we loved our trips to snorkle and also dive with the stingrays). The helicopter trip was worth every penny! We could see southern stingrays and eagle rays from the sky. We saw a group of circling sharks as well. We flew over the ship and got fantastic photos! Jerome and his lovely wife Natalie are from France - they own this relatively new company. They were very enthusiastic about showing off this beautiful island. One tip - if you walk across the street from the pier, you can book the helicopter tour for $95 per person. We booked it through the ship at around $138, and by doing so, you are guaranteed to get to fly - weather permitting. You can make reservations online directly with Cayman Isalnds Helicopters or get more information from their web-site:

 This was the highlight of our port adventures. I have never flown in a helicopter before, and I found it to be peaceful and beautiful!

we also took the helicopter tour and it is just as advertised. the bird could take six passengers but there were only four of us with the aviator. jerome and natalie are, indeed, good hosts and answered a hundred questions. we recommend it...pinkburro
