Tendering into Stockholm

Heading to the Baltic in July and just been emailed by our cruise line that we are now to tender into Stockholm. Does anyone have any experience of this? Does it take a lot of time off your day?

Your ship will moor at a buoy in central Stockholm and you will have use the ships tenders from/to the ship.

This is the first I've read of ships tendering into Stockholm. Is this because there will be an excess of ship's in port that day?

Just try and make sure you get an early tender ticket.

Hi Len, yes there are too many vessels that day to dock so P&O emailed to say they are going to tender instead. Hopefully they'll go straight to Slussen so it might work in our favour!

Here is a picture taken from Slussen of a cruise ship tendering at Strömmen last year. You can see the Djurgården ferry behind the road sign. The ferry landing is immediately the left of the picture.
