Progreso flamingos

You can get a tour fairly inexpensively when you get off the bus that will take you there and to several other interesting places.

 

I think we paid 20 or so.

 

Went to the flamingos, a salt basin, some pretty decent Mayan ruins, and a nice beach.

 

But yeah, it is doable by taxi.

Unless you are a bird watcher you might not want to stay at the flamingo place for all that long.

Thanks, I am a birder and have been to several ruins so I am mainly interested in the birds.

We are definitely birdies - I have been trying to plan up a taxi to see the Flamingos but it seemed like a long ways from the port. The Wildlife reservers looks really nice. Don't need to see other things listed on the execursion, but Pink Flamingos.
