Report - Farmer's Daughter Hotel - South Hollywood

Hey all, so new hotel report here.

This is on the Farmer's Daughter Hotel on Fairfax and Beverly in Hollywood.

There have been a few people that asked about this area, so this is the best place if you have a car or don't have a car for a day or three, if these are the things that you are "interested in" on your pre or post cruise stay in Los Angeles/Hollywood...

#1 This is a great, clean, hip, boutique hotel.

It is not a generic Holiday Inn, Sheraton, etc...

If you have a rental car, and want to be really close diriving distance to Hollywood, Universal, Santa Monica, then this is great.

If you don't have a rental car, then this is great if you want to go to CBS Studios, The Famous Farmer's Market, The Grove, Canter's Deli (and the Kibitz Lounge - insider Hollywood hangouts), and quick taxi ride up to Hollywood and Highland, and then quick RedLine to Universal...

So, some pictures...

#2 If you want to be close for a tour or trying to get into The Price Is Right, then this is the place to be.

#3 If you want to have a great walking distance to some really insider Hollywood hangout restaurants and clubs, then Canter's Deli, and The Kibbitz Lounge is walking distance.

#4 If you want to be kind of close to Hollywood and Highland, the walk of fame, Universal, then this is not the closest, but close and easy drive or taxi/bus ride up the street.

But it's still a great place and area, and now you are not only across the street from Drew Carey's The Price is Right, but you get Late Night with Craig Ferguson, and American Idol (if you are in town at the right time)...

Convenient attractions right nearby...

Please if you have not been to or actually stayed in these areas/hotels recently, please don't bother replying and giving info on what anything was like 2, 5 10, 125 years ago...

I go here regularly, all hours of the day or night (up till 4 PM some nights, so I know what's safe for walkers, and I lurv my job!), and anything that I'm posting for people, is in all context of "safe" for what I'm recommending.

I have lived around here for my entire life, and part of my job is to look and investigate, AND STAY AT hotels in the area for out of town clients and work events. So I recommend based on a "local" expertise, as well as an "out of town expertise"; and have actually stayed at these places (as a local - and get direct thumbs up or down from the out of towners)...

So, unless you are regularly staying around here, at these places - CURRENTLY - then please don't bother with old news or "rumors" from years ago...

I've stayed there a couple of times in the past year and it's a fabulous location like the OP says. Love walking across the street to so many dining and shopping options at the Grove (one of my fave malls), the Farmer's Market, etc. The building itself looks like it was one of those typical "motor hotels" from the 50's, which has been turned into a little, hip boutique hotel. Wish there were more like it. Kudos to whoever dreamed up the idea!:)

And if anyone if a fan of the MTV show "The Hills" this is the location for it.

Their apartment and a lot of their restaurant hangouts are around here.

Their place is that big apartment complex right behind The Grove.
