clackey Posted March 24, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 24, 2009 I've found one store in Progreso that wouldn't take U.S. but there was a place to exchange money closeby. That was 2 or 3 years ago though.
407dm Posted April 4, 2009 #4 Share Posted April 4, 2009 Yes, my brother and I went to a grocery store past the open air market to the next street and then right about 4 or 5, maybe 6 blocks. It was a nice store with bakery, a few clothes, produce, meats and dairy. They accepted our US cash and wanted to give me change in dollars but I asked the checkout lady for pesos. I am sure that she thought I was loco but I wanted pesos to remember the trip.
