Has anyone ever shopped at market/grocery store in Progresso?

I would like to go in there and get a few things, can we go in with our money and buy or do we need to change money in to pecos?

No need to exchage dollars for pesos... everyone there is glad to take US currency...

I've found one store in Progreso that wouldn't take U.S. but there was a place to exchange money closeby. That was 2 or 3 years ago though.

Yes, my brother and I went to a grocery store past the open air market to the next street and then right about 4 or 5, maybe 6 blocks. It was a nice store with bakery, a few clothes, produce, meats and dairy.

They accepted our US cash and wanted to give me change in dollars but I asked the checkout lady for pesos. I am sure that she thought I was loco but I wanted pesos to remember the trip.
