Magic is cruising at roughly 77% of normal speed.
-
I am most interested in information from people currently on the ship, as we are set to depart this Saturday.
Carnival should be more forthcoming, as we have an all-day private tour in Roatan that I would like to cancel as a Courtesy to the vendor, as it appears that port may be dropped.
AC issues need to be described in detail.

We cruise in 55 days and I am nervous.
We are cruising in 6 days...

I’m guessing 6/30 sailing will cut Mahogany Bay as it’s the farthest port

And the reason I booked this cruise
We have been to Cozumel and Belize, and Costa Mayo
Am aware that is the port they will probably drop, but logistically they could drop Costa Mayo.
This sux.
If there is no A/C as well 50.00 credit is not gonna compensate. 50% credit would be more like it.

Well, darn, they are one of the best parts of a fried seafood platter.
Agree.
Northerners have no idea what they are missing

7 days
But we are on the Magic, which is having issues.
-
Still no email from CCL re: dropped port for 6/30 sailing.
Please let it be Costa Maya!!!
Would appreciate any updates on the ship from the 6/23
Folks.
TIA

A/C issues might have nothing to do with the propulsion, though. Just one person keeping their balcony door open can throw a whole bunch of cabins out of whack.
I'm really anxious to hear which port is being dropped for the western sailing on 6/30.
I will let you know
-
That bolded part is scaring me just a bit.
Yikes!
-
Port changes are in the contract....I agree with that. A/Cs not working or hot tubs running only some of the time....they will owe a lot. It will be interesting to see what unfolds in the next couple of weeks.
Yikes.
Getting worried about 6/30 sailing.
A/C issues?
-
I googled and it says between 20 and 24 knots, but I am not an expert so I could be wrong!!
so its running at approximately 85% normal cruising speed.
We are on the June 30th sailing, no word yet if they are dropping a port.

I think some of you just look for things to complain about or be offended by. The victim mindset is everywhere in our culture and it is shining through in this thread.
agree.

I just received an email with an upgrade offer...to go from deck 10 balcony room to an Ocean Suite on deck 7 for 470 dollars total. We will have 4 people total in the room, 2 Adults and 2 Children ages 5 and 8. What should we do? Take the upgrade? Or not? The new room is 7242....if that helps. If we do decide to do it, is the link for the website safe? We have never gotten an upgrade offer and don’t know what to do. Thanks so much! :) Also, does anyone know how long we have to decide?
I would jump on it.

Sailing 6/23 and received the email of the St Thomas Port being cancelled. I was looking forward to this and already purchased a Excursion. I called and it will be refunded as a in room credit. She also said there is a chance it could be fixed by Saturday and we would sail as planned. Who knows at this point. I just need vacation !
Fingers crossed for you and our cruise following week!

The only fact I know is the Magic has propulsion issues now, and we are sailing in 10 days.
I hope we are cruising, and not crawling.
:(:( :(:(

We have sailed both RCL and Carnival. Each line has advantages, and disadvantages.
But truth be told, Carnival costs less. Period.
For a proper comparison I would not book a 3 day cruise, as you mentioned that you cruised OASIS class ships on RCL, and the short Carnival cruises use the older smaller ships.
We have sailed on the Glory, Breeze, and are sailing on the Magic in 10 days. The Glory is getting a bit long in the tooth, so I would lean more towards the Breeze or Magic etc.
I'd book 7 day cruise to compare apples with apples.
Give it a shot!

We are on the 6/30 sailing, and would also be bummed if they cancelled Roatan!
agree.
Costa Maya is just another cruise created port. Hope that is the one that gets cut.
-
Well, Roatan is the farthest port from Port Canaveral, so it's possibly the one they would drop. Hope not!

They could easily drop Costa Maya, which is really a non-port to me, and just head slower directly to Roatan.
I guarantee 100% of the passengers would want Roatan over Costa Maya.
If they drop Roatan instead, I'll probably be done with the line.
-
Hope they can address the engine issue.
We are on the June 30th sailing.
If they do have to drop a port, I hope it's Costa Maya.
Ill be extremely bummed if it's Roatan, that port is the main reason we picked this itinerary.
Likewise, Belize and Cozumel.

We are on the 6/30 cruise as well.
With the Magic mustering just 75% cruising speed, I am mentally prepared for Roatan to be dropped, and while we will be
extremely disappointed, we will not let it ruin our cruise.
I just texted DW to remind me to pack a fan, just in case our cabin has AC issues.
Hoping other issues don't crop up.
4 days til cruising!! :)
