Yes I noticed this last night. I guess it looks okay?
Noticed that also. Personally think it would look better all blue. We are going to have to redesign the the suits and polos now (per earlier snips at the blue/orange combo) [emoji16]

Interesting indeed! Look forward to the reveal where hopefully some background on venue style will be provided. We were hoping they’d continue you with a larger multi level MDR venue.
Found the multi option single level dining rooms on Quantum class lacked ambience and a sense of 'occasion' if that makes sense.

Have not seen the video so that's why I am not following well, kind if confused between emergencies and tendering in ports,, ... . do you have a link to the video,?
The main link is supplied by Lloyd555 and if you scroll down I think it was towards the bottom.
They had an army of people in life jackets doing a live 'drill'.
Impressive that even at half capacity for tendering they should improve times to get ashore dramatically.

WOW...will he be available in the gift shop?
‘HE’ may not be, but they might sell these 'Edgy' tops instead [emoji38]

Well, here’s something about the Edge's life boats, its manufacturer and more from a Norwegian article.
Some great photos as well!
Some great photos indeed! Thanks again [emoji1]
Good perspective of the S3 balconies with Lledge above. There is a 'model' on one them getting a bit of sun!
Love these behind the scenes shots - you just don’t realise what’s in the ceiling, under the floor, in the walls on these ships. Goodness knows how they know what goes where!
Oh No! They have introduced some thrill offerings a la Royal Caribbean - soon to be announced - X smokestack abseiling [emoji33][emoji6]

Ha ha, Celebrity should’ve grabbed him for modelling the 'cocktails on the Lledge' look [emoji12]

LOL, not quite the high end look I was thinking of !! is that a celebrity chic nite look?!
I was thinking more like this....that tie is just the same 'modern' splash of orange to the suit as the magic carpet is to the ship!

what about Navy shorts, White shirt & Orange suspenders?
Now we’re talking high fashion [emoji38]

I must be one of the minority but actually think the orange goes well with the blue hull. I do think once finished it will look quite stylish. Anyhoo, look out for me onboard in my orange polo and navy shorts [emoji41][emoji23]

Wow, nice to see the occasional ship build picture posted in this thread [emoji6]
I’m liking the sleek look of the superstructure above the bridge.

Love them! When I first bought them (@ 3 cruises ago) my wife thought I was bonkers and called them a 'stupid' idea. That was before she actually used them and realised how great they were - not just for making the most of packing the suitcase but ease of pulling them out and popping in drawers, keeping bathers, undies, casual vs dressy tops etc all organised.
Now when we go away she is the first one to ask if I’ve got the 'stupid' bags ready.....and also now buys them as gifts for travelling friends and family [emoji1][emoji1360]
P.S. They are widely available now but we have the Ebags bought on Amazon. Great quality, strong zips etc. I recently bought their 'pack it flat' toiletry bag...my favourite 'stupid' bag of all!

We have found onboard duty free grog prices pretty good, not elite as you suggest but two bottles of Capt. Morgan spiced rum was usd22. They had quite a few gin/tequila/vodka options of 2 for $22 or $33 if I recall. Had a few 'upmarket' brands but limited options.
If you buy during cruise they will package up and you can collect (on our last Solstice cruise they didn’t deliver, but have heard of this happening) on last day of cruise.

Let's look at the most recent new ship line by parent corp RCI which is Quantum Class. They tried a no MDR concept (Dynamic Dining) and it was a complete failure so that won't happen on Edge. They have one unique specialty restaurant (Wonderland) like Eden. Everything else standardized with other RCCL ships for the most part. It is fun to guess but we will know soon.
The Quantum class also introduced Jamie’s Italian, which was their take on a celebrity chef franchise, which seems the latest buzz.
I wonder if Celebrity will go down a similar path of a celebrity chef restaurant on the Edge class ships??

Seafood specialty restaurant: all the previously frozen fish and seafood you can eat! How much extra would you pay for that?
True but couldn’t they catch it fresh from the Lledge whilst at sea...yet another purpose for this orange marvel [emoji12]

Positive photos? As opposed to... [emoji12]

Now that has to be one serious negative comment.
Am sure some will see red.
Can’t wait to see how things will develop

I like the name 'Lledge'.
Just sayin'.

How about calling it the (L)edge
I must admit I’m fine with the current name (whatever!) but I love this....you can even get so much more value just from saying it....
The LLLLL -E - dge 🤪[emoji13]
I can see that sticking (the new name, not the 'ledge' itself, heaven forbid lol!).

Nice! A platform to dive into the pool or hot tub. Fun!!! ;p
Think that might also be where the Magic Slingshot launches you ashore from 🤪 a multi functional feature, very modern luxury touch [emoji12]

Wow things are getting really interesting now we’re seeing the facilities and interiors take shape. That pool looks awesome! How much better will it look on a sunny day [emoji38]
Thanks as always Lloyd555 for sourcing all these awesome shots!

If the MC is stuck they merely use the other side of the ship and dock conventionally.:p
Well they can’t 'dock' at a tender port but maybe the port side has a more conventional setup. Still limiting as it often depends on weather conditions which side they use for tender deployment.

Perhaps a backup catapult system should be added to get people ashore?
LOL. that would be Celebrity’s take on adding a water slide or flying fox...the Magic Slingshot [emoji14]

Does it definitely replace them? Can't this just be used as well as or instead of the traditional platforms?
I do wonder if they have a backup option!
Looking at all the photos there doesn’t seem to be any outlines or recesses where the traditional platforms would be housed.
But from some info Celebrity shared at the original release of the magic carpet a part of the presentation was how their improved tender boarding process evolved from existing concepts to various new ideas of which magic carpet was the final outcome!
(Found the original video ... the tender launch discussion kicks in at 8:27)
I would hate to think what would happen if the magic carpet was stuck on Deck 5 on a tender port day [emoji33]

Other cruise lines in the earlier part of the 20th century including the White Star Line that built the Titanic also had bows similar to the Edge. [emoji4]
Its also under the waterline where the key changes are that provide a more efficient method for the bow to 'cut' through the water with less drag than the more traditional (and potentially more visually appealing!) bow design in common cruise ships to date.
https://www.marineinsight.com/naval-architecture/types-of-bow-designs-used-for-ships/amp/
It’s interesting though how the style looks the same as the older liners like Titanic and many Battleships.
Don’t they say what goes around comes around...particularly in fashion/design [emoji1]

I would be surprised if it could't be removed if needed.
Possibly but wonder how that would impact the whole tender process, seems to be a major use and replaces the traditional tender platforms that fold out from the hull when needed.

With all the other asymmetry going on with this ship, I doubt it!
It looks like a highlight feature around the magic carpet tender embarkation area.
Overall she looks quite striking IMO!
