  1. We hope that they keep the Bistro on 5 ! And they did have sushi in the Oceanview Cafe , while nothing exotic - it was free ! . They have tried a similar venue , the Seafood Terrace on the Regal Princess , but it didn't seem very popular on our cruise and we didn't try it . I think that the a la carte pricing is a turn off for most people . :p

Loving your review, the Baltic cruises are a bucket list trip for us!

Regarding Bistro on 5, sadly Celebrity has decided to roll Sushi on 5 out across the fleet by October. I say sadly as I'm not a sushi fan and quite enjoyed Bo5, although appreciate it was under utilised and thus was up for a change sooner than later.

Looking forward to your next instalments!

    Cheers

    Matt

  2. Well I'll jump in here, but with a slightly different take! Whilst I would love to see an in depth Hawaii/Tahiti itinerary I'd also like to see a 2nd ==X== ship based in OZ [emoji33]

For similar reasons we love the Celebrity experience, but it would be nice to enjoy another ship than the lovely Solstice! Yes, they have options out of Asia but as a family the return flights make them an expensive option. And then there's the even more expensive and 24+ hour flight to hit Europe or East Coast USA cruising options [emoji33][emoji389]✈️

Celebrity, hurry up and triple your fleet already so you can make us all happy!! [emoji38]

  3. Have you checked the Sticky above...S class cabin spreadsheet.

Also it would be helpful If you tell us the room nUmber of the stateroom you are inquiring about

I think the OP, whilst had a specific cabin in mind is generically asking about airflow issues in the smallish master bedroom of the CS suites.

I too would be concerned that such a small space would get stuffy without sufficient AC airflow [emoji33]❄️

  4. Not true that both in a stateroom must have the same package, maybe at booking this is so, but once on the ship, one can upgrade and roommate is not required to upgrade also

Perhaps some confusion with other cruise lines that require both to have the same package?

If you purchase the packages yourself this is correct, but if part of a promo (eg Go Big, Better Best) then all in the cabin must have same promo, thus same drink package of this is offer taken.

Agreed once onboard, there is no restriction on just one person upgrading (or attempting to downgrade!).

  5. If you can get a 3rd chair from your steward it will easily fit on a hump balcony. But as others mention, if it's only a few times you need it just grab the vanity chair from inside. We cruises 17 nights as quad share (1 teen, 1 9yo) and lived to tell the tale. For 3 days you will be fine...bathroom roster will be the biggest issue!!

  6. We were tempted on our dirt cruise but not since. It's a hash up of various footage, not all of it is from your own actual sailing. You may be lucky and 'star' in the video, but you may not. To me it would be something you might watch once and never again. There's plenty of you tube clips out there if you wanted to show cruising Celebrity off to friends!

  7. They will have offer s special deal later in the cruise where you pay a single price (sorry can't recall actual $$ amount) for as much as you can squeeze into the bag. But if you have enough to layers to last that far and you are travelling home immediately after thr cruise it may be cheaper to hold off until you're back home!

  8. Thanks, for the input everyone! I've heard good things about the Bistro on 5, sad to hear it's getting replaced as I was looking forward to trying that French Onion Soup people seem to rave about on CC.

I also love sushi so this change works as well!

My wife and I will also miss Bistro on 5, but sadly never tried the French a Onion soup there. We do love the MDR version though and would have it very 'other' night because we loved it so much!!

P.S. We are not big sushi lovers but we also love Silk Harvest restaurant for its eclectic Asian dishes. The fried cream cheese wontons are a firm favorite!

I do wonder if they would ever convert it to Qsine as they have on other S class ships, bit heard nothing to support that. And happy not to [emoji1]

  9. I think the prices on the Ovation are outrageous! We are booked on the Christmas cruise in December out of Sydney to New Zealand for 15 nights. With our current weak Aussie dollar we are having to pay AUD77 (approx. USD57) per person/day for the Premium Package - with the 20% discount . This equates to AUD 2296 for the two of us. We were on the TA Allure cruise last year and it was nowhere near that price!

Even so, if you're a candidate for a drink package you know you will consume a few drinks of whatever is included (soda, coffee, water, cocktails etc) and it still works out around 6-7 drinks a day compared to pay as you go prices.

The USD priced per day hasn't increased so much, it's our poor Aussie dollar that makes it look worse [emoji857][emoji37]

  10. Looks amazing! How'd they taste?? Are the desserts complimentary?

Yes everything you see on the pics, along with some big jars of cookies are all complimentary...you must pay for your coffee (latte, cappuccino etc) here!

And yes, for the most part they all taste pretty good!!

  11. One of Celebrity's best kept secrets! It can depend who you ask as to the actual breakdown but coffee drinks like cappuccino, Latte etc and the Teadrop tea bags are included on both packages.

I've always understood that 'speciality coffees' were the alcoholic ones listed like Roman or Aspen Coffee but as others point out that may be true on one ship or cruise, but different on another!

Wish ==X's== marketing dept could redefine the terms 'premium' and 'speciality' so we all understood what was being inferred by their usage!

  12. The sofas are hard as rocks. Just sit on one sometime. Not comfortable for sitting; I would suspect not comfortable for sleeping either.

We found egg shell foam mattresses on sale for $15 so bought one for our next cruise! had no luck securing one onboard last time so will take our own. If we still have room in our luggage we'll think about bringing it home for next time else just leave it behind!

  13. The S class ships have a half sixe basketball court that would allow a kick of the soccer ball also.

For teens they have a dedicated teen lounge, but not much in the way of pre organised activities - the teens are left to hang out and interact on their own.

I've seen on X website there's apparently a Program where the kids are loaned hero cameras and given a script to make a movie. They then edit their footage in the ilounge....sounds like a great way to spend some hours but I don't recall this actually being offered on our last couple of cruises...

There is also some activities like bocce and lawn bowls on the lawn that could be fun if there is a group of like minded trend to play.

  14. I know that....

I'm just asking when they are switching deals. Everyone gets very uppity when you use the term "sale"

I think you might have got a bit 'uppity' at my reply.

I wasn't having a go at you, rather the falseness of Royal's 'sales'. Seems most posts here feel the Same way. I wasn't to know you I already knew that.

But glad someone has posted when the next false deal starts so you have your answer. Even with the inflated pricings there are still deals to be had, I hope you score one them.

  15. Next sale? There's always a 'sale' going on, you just need to know your prices and determine if it's a genuine deal or not. I find it crazy how they are allowed to get away with advertising a 50% off sale for example, yet prices are marked UP Before they 'sale' discount is applied...in many instances you can be paying more or at least same price as 'pre sale' prices.

  16. The guarantee cabins normally include the perks also, maybe in UK it is Different? Even the obstructed balconies on Solstice class ships offer a pretty decent view...you may have a lifeboat Davit or look out over a lifeboat, but still have a pretty good view.

If you're not fussed at all with a balcony, save the $$$ and do the outside guarantee. They are same size and layout of a verandah cabin, sans the verandah!

  17. P.s. Excuse my two sleeping Devils in the picture [emoji48], was only chance I got to take one of the quad share layout! My son stole our bed when he could as he found the sofa as hard as rock. [emoji37]

This is a C2 concierge class room , actually made up as a quad share. The 4th bed is the trundle 'bed' pulled out from under the sofa....

The 3rd bed is the sofa as seen here made up. During the day the sheets would be made up but left on the 'sofa' so you could still use it..I suppose you were sitting on the bed rather the the sofa then [emoji6]

All concierge cabins have the sofa/trundle combo else some cabins also have the ceiling Pullman bunk. Actual configuration is shown by an icon on the deck plans.

So all cabins will allow triple share using the sofa, else check out a cabin that does quad share using a Pullman if you would prefer to use that and avoid using the sofa as a bed.

  19. You won't need to downgrade, just enjoy the non alcohol options of the package. The classic package included 'standard' domestic brand water like Arrowhead. Evian, Perrier etc are in the premium package. If you wanted to upgrade to the Premium Non Alcoholic package to include them I'm not sure how they would handle it...might be worth asking the question at Guest Services.
