  1. Regarding Rome trips - so easy to do yourself by train. Station only a few minutes away and was 12 euros return for the hour journey. They give you a timetable at the time or you can download one beforehand. The thing you need to do is be off the ship first thing, before the trips. We walked all round Rome, including Vatican which we hadn't planned, and ended up at the Colloseum. A fantastic day - I can supply detailed information of our day trip if anyone needs it.

Hi dronnygirl we are going to Rome in October on Azura and are bebating wether to take the excursion with P and O or get the train which would be much cheaper. I would be very interested in some information of your day trip.

    Thanks

  2. Hi

We prefer to do the ship's excursions so always go with whatever they are offering.

We did a great tour to Rome - Rome on your Own. You get dropped off at the Vatican and that is your pick up point. We had the whole day in Rome. We felt better because we knew that the tour would make sure we got back to the ship in time!

We planned our day so that, once we got dropped off we got a taxi to the Forum area. The taxis are just by the drop off point and it wasn't expensive. We had a look around the Forum and Coliseum ourselves and then walked back to the Vatican. We had a good hour there before we left.

A great day at our own pace.

We haven't done Naples with P&O but would recommend any tour that does Vesuvius and Pompeii. Sorrento is lovely but it takes a long time to get there and the roads can be busy. We have done a Pompeii transfer from a ship but that was ok because we had been before and knew where we were going at the site.

For Livorno we did a disaster of a tour to Florence and Pisa .... amidst a thunder storm of apocalyptic proportions! Am not a fan of Florence, but on a nice day the tour we did would have been nice I think !

Venice - take yourself - there is nothing like getting lost in the back streets of Venice.

You are visiting some great ports - enjoy ;-)

Hi we are going on Azura in October and was wondering how much you paid for Rome on your own tour and the Florence and Pisa tour.

Also was there a reduction for children.

    Thanks

  4. Hi. I usually travel wih P and O but am looking at booking for next year with Celebrity.

My parents are travelling with Celebrity this year and would be able to put down several CFCV deposits, would they then be able to transfer these to me and my family even though me and my family have never travelled with Celebrity.

    Thanks for any replies.

  5. Hi. We are thinking of booking an early saver on Azura round the Med in October.

There are 3 of us in the cabin and are looking to book a balcony but would like a double bed for me and my wife and a sofa bed for my daughter.

What I would like to know is do all Superior deluxe balcony cabins have double beds and sofa beds.

Also is there much difference between a Superior deluxe balcony and a normal balcony cabin.

    Thanks.
