  1. Other than call to see if you can move your cabin, not much you can do. It's possible they were going to be doing these moves anyway, as there have been reports of cabin changes on August cruises to promote social distancing. So maybe they took the switch as an opportunity to do that... but just a guess. I do get why you would be upset though. We are fortunate enough to retain the same cabin on our Brilliance to Serenade switcheroo.
  2. The Brilliance to Serenade switch is price protected. At least it said as much in the email I received for our switch. Your original stateroom category price will either be protected at your original cruise fare rate or reduced to the current cruise fare rate (whichever is lower). This excludes taxes, fees, gratuities, and other non-cruise fare items. If you were already paid in full and your cruise fare rate decreases, we'll provide you with a refund for any difference in pricing. You can expect to receive your refund to your original form of payment 30 business days after we move you. Kindly note, refund times may vary depending on your financial institution.
  3. I got the letter from Royal that my Nov 22 was moved to Serenade. But right now it's showing up as a Canceled cruise on my account and doesn't exist on the booking engine. It's showing 4th, 8th, 13th, 18th and 27th, but not the 22nd. I'll be patient, because it said the transition could take a couple of weeks.
  4. No. But the last cruise being moved from Brilliance to Serenade is supposedly the Dec 6 sailing, and it's been changed from a 5 to a 4 nighter. So you unfortunately got the one Brilliance cruise after mid-October that got canceled in the transition.
  5. So in what I would call an unusual move... Serenade is replacing both ships out of Tampa at different times. Brilliance sailings before Oct 16 are canceled and sailings from October 16 through December 6 are moving to Serenade. When Brilliance returns to active sailing December 16, Serenade will then take over the Rhapsody sailings. Rhapsody sailings out of Tampa before Serenade takes over are canceled.
  6. Hmmm.... that's a shame. I would have expected them to be able to keep cabins the same given the ships are more or less identical.
  7. It's an automatic switch, which means people behind the scenes are having to move every single booking en masse from one ship to another. Having the front line cs staff also doing it could cause issues with the bulk move. And to make matters more complex it's a different ship class so the layout is not going to be nearly identical.
  8. Our kids needed new ones. Took a month from when we turned in the applications at USPS to when they showed up in the system, and it's been about 9 weeks since then with no status update. Fortunately I have extra certified birth certificate copies we can use for our upcoming cruise, because I don't think we're going to be seeing the passports in the next 3.5 weeks.

  10. My kid has been masking in public and at school for quite awhile and still does it when we go out. She can handle the cruise ship limitations for a week. They aren't any worse than any other restrictions we've dealt with. Kids are far more adaptable than adults. Right now it seems the only whole party limitations are on shore excursions and certain venues when together on the ship. We're also in Star Class on our cruise in August, so we're already in our own little bubble for the most part.
  11. It's always the first full school week of November. So Nov 1-5 2021. Which reminds me. I need to update my profile since I no longer live in NJ.
  12. If you're wanting to do that, just take the kids to Windjammer, then drop them off at Adventure ocean and plan your own dining for later.
