  1. Can anyone tell me if they have Texas Holdem Tournaments on the EOS? If so, when? what are the buy-ins? and are there re-buys or re-entry?

    Thanks.

They do have single table sit-n-goes, 50 buy in for cash tourneys, 100 for Royal poker tour. The tourneys didn't get enough players most days, and we didn't get enough players to qualify for a cruise spot. The cash games were OK, a couple decent players and a lot of donkeys.

  2. Just got off on Sunday - didn't see popcorn anywhere, and I even commented to my family that they should serve it when there are movies playing in the screening room!

I was on the Explorer earlier this month and someone had written in on Talking Turkey asking about popcorn. Leigh said that what happens is that most of the popcorn winds up on the floor and it takes too long to clean up after every screening

  3. incorrect. All the bill/ticket in, ticket out slots have been upgraded and all run on a network. Percentages can be changed at any time, from several locations. If a percentage is changed during a spin, the new percentage takes place on the next spin, or a predetermined amount of time.

Incorrect. Slots and video poker can be monitored and interrogated remotely, but CAN NOT have the payback percentage changed remotely. The machines would be too vulnerable to cheats. Changing the payback percentage requires physically replacing the RNG chip in the machine.

  4. Not really a superstition but when I'm playing poker I will not make change for other players from my stack and I don't let the dealer "color me up". I don't care if I have to have my chips racked and stacked, the only way higher denomination chips get in my stack is if I win them.

  5. Ok thanks. I will probably start off play conservatively and see how loose and aggressive are the players. I am actually getting tired of playing without real money because there are a lot of people that make wild bets and usually will stay in the hand no matter what.

As a semi pro player, I can tell you that playing live for real money, there's still a lot of players who subscribe to the "have to see every flop" theory, and yet more who have no concept of pot odds and will chase any draw to the river. If the poker gods have turned their backs on you it's a short day. Get on a run and it'll pay for the next vacation.

  6. To change the payout on a slot requires opening the machine and changing out the RNG chip. A standard 3 reel slot with no bonus games will, on average pay out a "winning event" 1 in 8 pulls. It might be a jackpot or it might be a minimum payout. This does not mean that you will win something every 8 pulls, it's a statistical average. 5 reel slots and those with bonus games will be different. Some machines are high frequency-low payout, others are low frequency-high payout. For consistency you have to find a full pay (9-6, 2:1 on 2 pair) video poker and play ideal strategy. Unless you play for a living look at it as entertainment and don't budget too much for slots

  7. "The only down side was that the game became SO friendly that by the end I lost a lot of value because I didn't want to take money from some of the people I really liked. I ended up checking down the nuts a few times because I didn't want to stick it to someone."

That's why with WSOP & WPT events you would be penalized if you didn't bet the nuts.

    Rockfan2:rolleyes:

No friends at the table. I've busted my wife and son out of tourneys, and felted my best friends. I'd expect them to do the same to me. I'm hoping to find a decent game on Explorer in December and I paln on playing in the on board satellite for next year's cruise

  8. Well, I've managed to work my way through the entire thread, an I gotta tell you, except for a couple of grumpy Guses I'd love to see all of you on my first cruise this December. I hope I'll have a few good stories of my own to tell. Of course, being as I've some Irish blood in me and I do enjoy a taste now and then, there may be some stories here about me. Please just be gentle in your telling so I can laugh at myself along with you!
