  1. hello. Many years ago, on our first family cruise, we brought my very dedicated high school basketball player. With basketball there is NO good time to travel as the team plays in one form or another all year long. When we boarded, he found the hoop on the ship. He played ball everyday, sometimes several times a day. He met us for MDR dinners, and our excursions. he played ball during all other day light hours. He had a wonderful time. Not my idea of fun, but he was with us, and happy. I guess my point is that you have to do what you think is best. Its only 5 days. It will be over before you know it. Almost as fast, he'll be an adult, doing his own thing. Enjoy the time you have. Hope all works out for you!!

  2. hello.. When I booked my cruise I was "told" that late dining was the only option available. I figured I'd log on several times and see if that changed, but I CAN'T FIND WHERE TO DO THAT! Anyone familiar with this?

Also, I would like to reserve at the steak house. How do I know when our cruise elegant night will be so that I don't choose that night??

    Thanks!

  3. just my 2 cents....we were on the Victory last year for 5 days and really enjoyed the ship and the crew. The CD was a riot: Marcello Marshmallow. He could be found around the ship and made us laugh whenever we saw him. We felt well cared for by the staff and the room was very comfortable with a bit of breathing room. ... comedy shows were awful, but that's the only bad thing I can say. enjoy! :)

  4. :confused:Hello. It has been a crazy summer. Hubby and I would like to cruise at the end of September. I noticed that prices have gone up since last I checked in early July. If we aren't too picky on ports or ships, will it pay off to wait until it is closer to the time we want to sail??? Or will the choice of rooms make the point moot? we generally cruise ocean view, lower levels.... how long should I wait?

    Thanks for any recommendations.

  5. hi. I'm just throwing my 2 cents in here. We are just of the Victory (sailed 8/22) to Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay, Nassau. Hubby and I are over the target market: 57 & 58. We rarely drink, (I had 4 drinks of the day, hubby had 3 beers, the entire trip). We had a great trip. We were able to sit outside in the moonlight and watch the dive in movie. We were able to sit out on the deck. We found a bit of a nook, facing the sea, in the air conditioning, where we could grab a piece of pizza and enjoy the beautiful waves. We went to the "shows" when we felt like it, but sat up on the balcony. We stretched our legs on the upper deck, even tried shuffle board. We mostly relaxed and enjoyed. We never felt like we were stuck in the crowd. I guess what I'm saying is that we felt perfectly comfortable doing as much (often, as little!) as we wanted. No one bothered us. Our room was quiet. We would do it again, and again, and again. aahhh.... Hope you find what you are looking for.

  6. Hello, Just off Victory yesterday. We were very pleased with our trip. This ship had the best food of all our previous ships. The crew was the most pleasant, always smiling, always being friendly. The cruise director was The Best. Really Funny, able to get people laughing and involved and really nice. Ship was older but extremely clean. I have not been on the Valor, so I can't compare, can just tell you how much we enjoyed this ship!

  7. hi. Hubby and I are 57 & 58. We absolutely enjoy carnival. We have been on 3 Fantasy class ships. We enjoy sitting a bit away from "crowds" and people watching. We enjoy the shows and the comedians. We enjoy trying different things at dinner. Most of all we enjoy getting away, and having the sea right there. Hope you folks enjoy it as much as we do!

  8. Hi, all. The days are finally flying, and we will be cruising SOON!! We have a large amount of time between getting OFF of the ship and flying home. I was wondering about the air boat/everglades excursion. It sounds great, but I noticed several comments THIS year saying that the everglades were dry and that impacted the tour.

Can anyone confirm or deny? We are talking about touring on 8/27/15.

I did check the "ports" board, and nothing there.

    Thank you (again)

We visited half moon cay a few years back and loved it. Plenty of chairs and soft sand, beautiful blue water and umbrella drinks! They served a tasty lunch at no charge too. I liked that you could spend $$$ on an excursion if you wanted, or just relax and enjoy for the cost of drinks.

    Hope you enjoy
