  1. I was talking to a waiter who once worked for Carnival & they a saying on their ship "feed em, water em, and get em out the door" :D

My last carnival vacation was great the food was very good. I think carnival has come along way and somehow gets a bad rap that isn't true. I have cruised both am emerald on rccl and also vip carnival. Both are FUN SHIPS and the Food is equal. A lot of new food venues on Carnival that i especially like. I just thought that i would let our viewers on cruise critic know that they won't be disappointed on either ships.

  2. People have to use logic. If they want anytime dinning they need to have an open mind and realize there are 2000+ people wanting to eat in two to three dinning rooms. If you want the flexibility to eat when you want then deal with the possible wait. They give you a device to let you know when to come back, go have a cocktail, glass of wine or a soda and relax. I don't care for ATD but if I was stuck with it I most certainly would not allow it to ruin my cruise. I would go with the flow. 🍷👀🍸🥃🍹🍺

I think the gentle mans concern was the fact that he booked this my time with a window of time. He did not expect other people to have reservations ahead of him. His interpetation of the My time process was he would be able to come to the dinning and be seated in a timely manner, in the window of time that he was assigned to. Had he known he had to also make a reservation he would not have booked my time and would have booked an exact time. Too much trouble for a EASY seating arrangement as it is advertised. I do understand. I too wouldn't let this ruin my vacation. But i can understand his disappointment and this needs to be addressed. And if i know RCCL they will fix this. As other people have posted this same thing, and people who post on here are avid cruisers and important customers.

  3. We agree!! We have gone back to a fixed time for our next cruise [emoji568]. This was way too stressful and not what you go on vacation for!

Sounds like i better change my reservation to a fixed time. I never had dinning room trouble before but it seems like a lot of people are signed up for my time now. We are scheduled for my time on the allure of the seas. But i still have time to change this . Thank you for the information.

  4. I love carnival and Royal Caribbean. The food venues have become more and more appealing on carnival. Royal Carribbean has the promanade which is a real nice place to hang out and have your coffee. If you choose a ship with the ice skating rink you will enjoy the ice show. Basically the same entertainment line up on both. The service is good on both ships. The dinning room is usually very good on rccl. They have late night pizza place with a couple of choices of pizza which is surprisingly good pizza on Rccl. Comparatively speaking they are the same. You won't be disappointed. I haven't been on the oasis style ship yet, but i have been on the freedom class and have never had a bad time. hope you enjoy your vacation.:D

  5. Room was dirty, hairs in bathroom, old shoes in wardrobe, dirty glasses in fridge. Complained to pursuers desk, not interested. Windjammer food cold, very cheap offerings, curry, potatoe curry, dirty uncleared tables etc. Bar service very slow, massive lines to be served. Dining rooms menu, no changes really through the week, desserts very poor. General dirty conditions throughout the ship, plates and food left in elevators and corridors and a few hours later still there, is that enough

Hope they get their act together. We will be traveling on this very ship next week. Love RCCL. George and I usually have great service ,clean cabins ,and a good choice of food venues. We are emerald and have cruised several times on RCCL but not this ship. I hope i will not be disappointed. Sorry that you had such a terrible time. I can only say this is not the NORM for this cruise line.

  6. Hi

I have just booked a cruise on Allure of the sea for 2014. I have never been on a cruise so im hoping i can get some help here. I have booked a 7 night eastern Caribbean cruise with superior ocean view stateroom with balcony. I have no idea what type of room this is but it sounds nice he he. :p Myself and my boyfriend are a little bit worried as we booked the trip in a moment of madness because it was on special offer (still pricey) we had been thinking of taking a cruise. So i booked full board thinking it would be like all inclusive in a hotel but iv now found out i need to arrange a drinks plan ? Can anybody advise me on this? We are late 20s early 30s and will probably have a drink every night not get totally crazy but we normally have one or two every night on our holiday, we both drink spirits and cocktails,my travel agent told me just to pay for my drinks on board as we order them as a drink plan is a waste of money is this right? Also can anybody give me a rough idea of how much money i can expect to need on board,we will definitely take one or two day trips off the ship We wont have a crazy amount to spend so i like to budget. What exactly does full board inc?It all seems so confusing i hope i haven't made a mistake booking this :(.Any other advice would be great.

I also want to add a cheap thing that we do to save for drinks.

I know that sounds crazy but we get a big bank the kind you can't break into and put it in our bedroom. Every night we empty our pockets and purses of the change we have have into the bank and a week before the cruise we head to the bank with this change. By the time our cruise takes place we have a couple hundred dollars worth of change for our drinks. No kidding it really adds up.

    Dear friend,

RCCL always has a great value and wonderful all inclusive cruise expierence can be found.

One thing you will have to plan for is your tips usually 12. a day per person which is charged to your account at the end of the cruise. So this is something that would be extra.

Iced tea is free and water of course and sometimes lemonade in dinning room is free and in the buffets.

The expense is alcohol and all bar drinks. Soda is an added expense. The shore excursions are extra if you chose to take them. but you can usually go on your own and take a cab or walk and shop at most ports if you need to save some money. Its your choice. We usually pick one place where we will splurge and buy an excursion and the other ports we either shop or take a cab and walk through the town on our own.

The ship you chose to cruise on is the newest and the biggest ship in the world. There is so much to do and see on this ship alone, that you probably will be exploring this ship all day long. My sister just got off this ship and she said it was fantastic. During the shows they have those foo foo fun drinks that are something we like to buy$ the frozen drinks. But besides the bar bill the all inclusive cruise is just what you booked. You can enjoy one of the speciality restaurants if you like but the food in the dinning rooms are free and good and so are the buffets. My sister did buy into one of the specality restaurants but she did say that the food that was included in the fare of the cruise was great and didn't leave anything to be desired.

I have cruised on RCCL several times never on the Oasis or the Allure yet but i am sure that the standards i am use to on rccl has not changed and you will get a value even if you don't spend another dime besides your graits. of course.

:D Don't worry be happy spend what you like..:D

  8. Headed to Belize in February on Royal Caribbean and want to snorkel. Any info I should know before I choose an excursion? We are in Belize from 9:00 to 6:00 pm so there should be plenty of time for an excursion.

    Appreciate any and all suggestions.

    Thanks

    KC Cruiser

Cave tubing is really nice:) if you can walk with no problem and enjoy seeing amazing sites also the ride in the air conditioned bus was fun and an excursion in itself. we did this in 2008 with cave tubing .com no money down to make a reservation and we had a wonderful time no complaints.Hope i gave you some ideas.:) they also let us sample chesnut wine on the way :)

Oh sorry i see you want to have snorkeling recommendations. oops

  9. Does the Norweign Dawn have a dedicated movie theater? I saw old posts that said yes but this was long ago and i know they updated the ship.

I hope so one of the ships we went on had a movie theater and even had popcorn . i like this better than watching tv in my cabin which i really don't enjoy as much. 2013 detail appreciated???:)

  10. While I don't do this, I have seen others make orders off the menu and have even seen the waiters offer something not on the menu. I think this was just a case of a waiter not wanting to go above and beyond to satisfy a passenger.

I agree with you. That is the service i expect on RCCL, and have always received. That's why i am surprised. I hate to make waves when the service isn't up to par. But knowing me i would probably try to make excuses for the waiter because i would hate someone to loose their job because of chicken tenders and a bad night.

RCCL is my favorite cruise line. Hope the service hasn't changed it has been a few years since my last RCCL cruise.

  11. You should eat in the buffet (as I do) because you can take what you want, as much as you want, and when you want.

I hope you weren't offended by my remark about rude adults in NYC. My husband lived in Astoria Queens and i always tease him about New Yorkers. I can tell your a very nice lady :o sorry
