And for the glacier viewing, as @Jim_Iain just said, it can get very cold.  As far as weather I've been in April, May, July, August and September.  Weather varied from nicely in the high 50s every day, to wet and rainly every day.  YMMV.

    Have a blast.

I’m a Florida girl and the coldest I’ve ever been in my life has been on the helipad watching the icebergs calve. If it wasn’t for the kindness of the Canadian friends we met in the retreat the first day, we would have froze. They generously lent us their gear and we survived! We were colder than in Iceland and Antarctica. Still, Alaska, Antarctica,  and Iceland remain our favorite cruises, save for Galapagos, which is unsurpassed.

    I’m happily following along.

At home, I wash all my clothes on the delicate  cycle with cold water.  On X, I have had no problems with sending my clothes to laundry.  I do not sent items such as silk blouses (laundry did ruin one 6 or 7 years ago) or anything else I might be concern about about.

I’m the same way with my laundry at home and I’ve had exactly the same experience with ship’s laundry. The only things I don’t send out are extreme delicates. I’ve never had anything shrink or be damaged in any way. The only quirk experienced was on our Antarctica cruise when I received one pair of someone else’s underwear! Don’t know how that happened. 🤷🏻‍♀️

  3. We have no plans to book future cruises onboard. Usually we would book several along with our dear traveling companions. First of all, we’re no longer sure what the future has in store for our cruising experience. In the past we always knew what the Celebrity experience would provide, now we really have no clue. Secondly, combine that with the 10% non refundable suite pricing, in lieu of the $200 onboard deposit which has been standard…why would we? It it really a sad day for long time Celebrity loyalists. I really don’t know what we’ll do in the future, probably more land travel. We’ll surely miss the golden days of X, the spectacular service and the many friends we’ve met along the way.

@tigervixxxen We've had a lot of laundry done on Celebrity ships. I suspect small items like socks and undies are put in a mesh bag or similar. Larger items, including mens  undershirts have a small tag on a seam, usually shoulder, with the cabin #. It's always fun when you wear something you took on your last cruise, but don't wear often, to find that little tag.

Oh yes! Those annoying scratchy tags you find six months later that have stiffened and are now irritating. We’re always surprised and yet pleased for the reminder of an excellent journey!

Thank you all for your replies.  I may take an extra carry on luggage to South America.  With the weather being in the 80's in Buenos Aires, down to the 50's in Ushuaia, it's like packing for two seasons.

That would be a wise choice. We found the extremes in weather to be even wider and don’t forget the wind/rain factor. Have a wonderful time!
