First cruise was my honeymoon- Sept 11, 1977,
upgraded to a suite on the Pacific Princess.
A 10 day Mexican Riviera- Ixtapa, Zihuatenajo, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, Acapulco.
(I wasn't aware it would become TV's "The Love Boat.")

The Aft extended is a sought after cat and sells out first. I would keep it.
The French door staterooms are really a great room and go rather quickly too. I would keep it.
I think both upgrades are a bit too expensive and should be about $150 less.
I think you are right. Can't remember what it would have been had I booked the balcony (solo.)
But I am paying less for the upsell cabin than if it were double booked, I believe...
I was excited about the French door cabin-
Been awhile since I've had a balcony- last time was on Spirit.

Wow. Lots of posts about whether the OP overreacted and whether the liquor policy is reasonable or not. But as I read the original post, I thought the main issue was the privacy issue -- that is, that an unrelated party would be told about a private transaction between the OP and the cruise line.
In the scheme of things, it is not a giant deal and perhaps no surprise that a fellow passenger plans to consume alcohol on board. Nonetheless it is nobody's business that I have ordered liquor for my cabin. But the fact that I have ordered alcohol should never be divulged to an unrelated third party passenger regardless of the circumstances.
I do commend the OP on the way he handled the sometimes nasty replies to his post.
I concur.

I use my credit card for my sail n sign account and use mostly cash if in ports outside the U.S.
I like to bargain and it's easier to do with cash.

All packed and ready to GO Cruisin' on the Miracle on Sunday!!
-
Just got my 1st call ever from the upsell fairy-
Am booked on the 6 day Miracle Mexican Riviera this Sunday.
$300 to move from my French door inside to a balcony on the Miracle this Sunday. (Am traveling solo.)
I bit. $50 more per day is how I looked at it.
Been looking at future cruises and so few without the 200% fare for solos.
So, after my 12/9/13 Inspiration cruise, I may not sail for quite awhile....

Lead people not into temptation, they can get their all by themselves.
As a favorite wit of mine wrote:

If I weren't going to be cremated, this would be on my headstone...

Love what the poster said, though.

As a Diamond Passenger, I occasionally get a free upgrade, but on my recent "Breeze" cruise, I got what I consider the pinnacle of FREE upgrades. I bought a 4A, inside cabin, and used my "one time free Diamond upgrade" to book a Deluxe Inside Cabin. When I got to the pier in Miami, and checked in, the lady commented "OH, You Got Upgraded". I figured she meant the upgrade to the Deluxe, so didn't think too much about it, until we boarded, and went to the cabin. We got an "OCEAN SUITE" for the price of a 4A inside. It was SWEET!
"SKY"
WOW!!
Wish I could have seen your Happy Dance when you got to your stateroom!!!

Let me be the first to tell you that although someone out there may actually answer your question........you will also get the following:
*smuggling is against your cruise contract
*smuggling is against the rules
*what kind of example are you setting for your children?
*do you lie at work also?
*you are raising the price of the cruise for everyone
*the stocks are sure to drop if you all keep smuggling
*this is exactly the sort of thing that makes Carnival look cheap
I am sure I am missing a few comments........however, how about no one say the above comments and ONLY respond if you can answer the OP's original question! Whadya say? Or am I ruining all your fun?
Thanks for this caveat- it's needed...

Jeans in the dining room? I thought the MDR was billed as a five-star dining experience.
What's next, wait staff dancing on tables?
Carnival states jeans are allowed in the MDR.
For formal night- I think something dressier is more appropriate.

Too bad I can't lump all my Carnival Corp. sailings into one. Diamond I would be..:D
That WOULD be nice...

You can't please everybody....there's always gonna be someone who will find something to complain about. I'm definitely not one of those people. I love cruising and I will be happy as long as I'm onboard
Same here- I live to cruise!!
