  1. Following along.... we sail on Oasis this sunday.
But... my wife and I think we were sick with noro mid december....and from what I have read we would potentially be immune for about 14 weeks. So, fingers crossed we wont have to worry.
Hope everyone makes a speedy recovery!

  2. Sailing on Oasis on Jan 13th. We received two emails about the RoyalUp offer. I called our TA to ask about it... he said they don't really have anything to do with it, so I could go online and do the bids myself if I wanted to, despite the email saying to contact my TA. But he also said he checked cabin/suite availability and it looked like all suites were sold out. We are currently in a CP balcony but I went ahead and bid on a GS and a crown loft suite today. I basically just bid just slightly above the minimums of each. If we get one, great... if not... no big deal. My wife and I have never been in a suite, so it would be an awesome surprise if we get one. Guess I'll keep my fingers crossed, but not getting my hopes up.

There are hairdryers in the room.

Nice! See you in 95 days. My friends I’m cruising with this week will hopefully be booking that cruise too.

    Mr. FunInTheSun,

I wanted to see if you could help me out with a question?
I have purchased the Ultimate dining package for DW and myself for our Jan. cruise coming up... we really like to enjoy different foods... this will be our first time going to Giovannis or Chops, etc... looking over the menus there appears to be lots of things that we would love to try; so my question is this... Are these restaurants similar to the MDR where you can order 2 or more items if you wish, or is it one app/entree'/dessert per person?

Thanks so much for the info.... please keep the great posts coming, and enjoy your day at the beach!

My husband and I were on the Oasis last week for Halloween and seeing some changes between your cruise and ours.  Our seapasses had our casino status preprinted on them and despite close to 700 diamond and above on board, no overflow diamond lounge. No 10 drink cards were ever on sale, either. I’d be interested to see if your cruise will eventually have them.

I'd like to know if you see the 10 drink card as well, and how much.... if it does show up.

Also... I see Mosaic is your headliner... we saw them as the headliner on Allure OTS last November... Really great a cappella group to check out... if you have not seen them yet. (PS... when they ask for requests... alway yell out FREE BIRD!!! HAHAHAHA)

    Keep up the great review!!!!

  5. So now the people that want to play Jenga cannot, because some of the pieces are missing?

Wow! That seems really....so many words come to mind.

Yea, and if you want to play yahtzee, you can use the missing dice, or play monopoly with the missing cards, or clue with no pieces, etc. Etc.. At least we put the pieces to use for fun on the fun ship.

  6. So, I plan on writing a review later this week, but wanted to post up asap about a game we hope to get started for future cruises.

Some friends and I hid (some really obvious, some really hard) jenga pieces all over deck 2 of the miracle which we just got back from on Saturday.

The challenge is to find them, maybe take a pic to post up when you return, but then feel free to take it and re hide it someplace else on deck 2.

Hopefully the cleaning crew won't remove all of them, between now and until people can keep it going. There are more pieces left in the game room too, so feel free to grab and continue the game.

The only crew member that knows is Jaya in the red frog... so tell him

Eugene and friends say hi... and you want to find jenga pieces.

    Have fun!

  7. Not sure if anyone has covered these... but a few tips I have picked up over my first 3 cruises are....

The Main dinning room is where its at! I usually check out the lido/buffet a few times... but mostly I plan my meals around the MDR.... they usually have sit down breakfast every day... sometimes lunches, and of course Dinner is a must.

Anything you see on the menu that you think you want... just order it. I typically order at least 2 apps, sometimes 2 mains, and 2 or 3 desserts... EACH NIGHT. On my last cruise, I kept joking with our waiter that on the last night I was ordering each dessert.... and on that faithful night, she took everyone order for dessert except mine... she literally brought me every dessert they had! LOL.

Another thing is to enjoy the ship 'off-hours'. I know you said you have children, but if at all possible try to take a stroll around the ship late at night.... There is just something neat about being out on the deck, after midnight, when most everyone is passed out from a food or alcohol coma from the day. You really get a chance to appreciate the ship, the night sky, and just be able to listen to the ocean and relax some.

Lastly, I like to go to my bank before I leave and order some $2.00 bills for tips. Just makes for a little more fun to tip with 2 dollar bills instead of 1's. Plus it saves some space. :-)

If all else... make sure to check out youtube as there are TONS of vids out there that cover this exact topic. Some vids are better then others, but still fun to watch the different tips and tricks.

    Enjoy!
