  1. We booked an H5 in December 2017 for Bliss Sep 8-15, 2018 Alaska Cruise at 6049.00 pp. Two weeks later it jumped to 6349.00 and we were thrilled we booked it when we did. Then every couple of weeks the price dropped anywhere from 200 pp to 600 pp. Final cost ended up be 3699 pp. I always keep checking after making my bookings. That $4700 savings better in my pocket ;).

  2. Our SF category room went down $200 per person this week. We're 74 days out from sailing and fully paid. I'm happy with the price I paid (booked direct with our NCL PCC) so it's not going to wreck my trip but I wondered if anyone has ever gotten credit or other goodies after a price drop?

I emailed my PCC asking about it, figure it can't hurt to ask.

Also wondering how it influences the upgrade bidding?

Our price dropped $600.00 after final payment and was given $150.00 OBC. My PCC explained that you get 1/4 of the difference so you have a difference of 400.00 so you should get $100.00 OBC. Your PCC can do it.

  3. I sent attached photos of previous RCCL sail cards as "DIAMOND" is displayed on the card. Haven't heard back. Anyone else have any success doing this as a verification?

I did a screenshot of NCL Platinum status and sent to my PCC. He forwarded it on.

  4. Someone with more MSC experience please correct me if I’m wrong. The rep put me on hold and said she was doing so because it looked like there was a discount for our sailing. If I look at our current sailing now, the price only goes down to our new rate if I’m logged in, showing our new Black status. It sounded like it wasn’t all sailings (?), but I could be wrong. Does MSC give discounts like other lines for loyalty? (Like RC gives balcony discounts starting at Platinum.).

I haven’t sailed yet on MSC because we’re booked Oct 2019 but I did do the status match to Black from NCL Platinum. Our Cruise happens to be one of their ‘Select Voyages’ so I got 5% plus an additional 15% totaling an $1100.00 saving. I posted this on our roll call but I will attach photo of where you can find it.

  5. Twice now I have sent a copy of an email I received from RCCL showing my name, Crown and Anchor number and Diamond tier to MSC for a status match for my upcoming cruise. It still does not show that they have confirmed my status. When I call no one seems to be able to tell me why I am not receiving a status match. Is there something I can do to take care of the situation before my upcoming cruise with MSC. I booked it because of the status match. Has anyone else had a problem?

    Thank you.

Sent an email with the screenshot of my Platinum status on NCL to my PCC and then received an email from the Voyagers Club about 5 days later with our status match to Black.

  6. Would you be willing to share who you booked your transportation with to get to Sea-Tac after the cruise? Trying to find how to get our party of 7 to the airport....

Google ‘Port Valet Seattle ‘ and it will explain it all.

  7. We will be on that same cruise in 15004 and have been wondering that very same thing...See you onboard

I finally found photos of the room and balcony and it looks fine. There’s a glass partition i would guess about 6 feet. I can post the photos if you want. I think its room 15002. See you too neighbor!

  8. Not correct. That $17.80 pppd was just the 20% separately billed mandatory additional service charge on the UBP. The UBP price was bundled into the total cruise price and was definitely not zero. I chose the UBP as one of my 2 allowed choices out of a menu of several others.

The point of my comment was that folks who don't drink that much may want to consider other choices such as a tour package or dining package instead of the UBP. Better yet, try to get a cruise price without the cost of those packages bundled in, and buy only what you want ala-carte separately. I don't know if NCL permits this, but other lines do.

    Cheers,

I believe you can choose not to take any packages. You have the option to choose which ones you want. If you don’t pick UBP, you won’t be charged the 20% gratuity.

  9. We can tell you that for sure now.

OK, then NCL owes us 2 meals. ;). I will definitely bring this up on our 2 cruises in September 2018 on Bliss and Escape.

I guess then with 7 free meals, not eating in Haven restaurant. Thanks for replying

  10. Thanks for all your answers. Guess we will wait until onboard to use get/use our vouchers, as myncl wants their payment upfront when trying to book Platinum meals just now, as we already booked our 3 free at sea meals. Will just book as soon as we board. (probably very few want to eat at the 5:30 slot anyway - lol!)

I booked all five of my meals over the phone with my PCC, 3 SDP and 2 Platinum. On the GA we were told the 2 free dinners were per stateroom and not per Platinum member which we both are. I will know for sure in September.

  11. Nice, you will have a shorter walk to the Horizon Lounge ;) I actually wanted an H6 Haven but those prices just never dropped enough nor do I see that they will. The unfortunate part because in NCL thinking the H5 is a higher category so even in the bidding process we will not get the opportunity to bid on those corner afts. We have always had a Suite with NCL actually always category SF aft on the Jewel or Dawn class to be honest it was killing me booking the MA Mini Suite but had in my mind I would just make a very high bid when the bidding started. But when this last drop happened I decided I would rather know where I was, get luggage tags in advance and a couple more perks than to risk not getting one.

I kind of doubt there will be anymore price drop, I think they will start the bidding high, then maybe if the bids do not start to come in at the high amount then may drop the prices.

We only get a H5 and the last time on the GA the bid was for DOS minimum bid 850 pp. I didn’t think it was worth it since we’re in the Haven already. I too like to know where we are and agree that the extra perks are worth it.

I’m thrilled that I saved $4100.00 from the time of booking on the Bliss especially that we have H5 booked on the Escape 8 days after we return which was planned first.
